I’ve been away for a week or two, but i’ll look into it - my initial impression is that the apps did a bad job of really communicating the risk. This has been a been a really tough pattern and apps/algorithms in particular have done really poorly. But i’ll investigate it further in a few days when i’m back from my very rare “look at weather maps every day of my life” hiatus

For what it’s worth, the Storm Prediction Center does a great job with this stuff and is full of insanely talented people i’ve worked with for a while. Speaking of which, they’ve got a risk area out for Day 5 (Sunday) which is fairly rare for the Twin Cities:

Traveling back to Minnesota from Oslo for a couple of weeks in September, the first time I'm in Minnesota when its green in 3 years, and I'm very excited

 

Those were two banger storms - the one overnight was rocking around 5am

 

Crave sucks though

 

I personally don't mind Crave though; have always had good food every time I've eaten there. My Mom likes going to the one at the MOA

 

Goofed up and bought one too many tickets for the Saturday Wilco show in December, will sell for face value+fees if anyone’s interested
