Watcher for sure

 

Watcher is so good, maybe her best acting. She’s great in Longlegs too even if I’m not the biggest fan overall.

But Villains is great, what a surprising one.

Would like to add The Guest to this list of Maika movies

 

Watcher and The Guest for sure. There's a little sci fi/thriller movie she did a while back called 'Tau' that was pretty solid i thought. Not a masterpiece but still super entertaining. She's always great.

 

I’m a big fan of the dawn of the dead remake

started Sea Fever but I kept falling asleep

will try to finish it up in a bit

 

I sat through The Stranger for Maika. I guess it's kind of an interesting experiment and it's more entertaining than I would have imagined -- but it's definitely nothing super special.

 

It was a Quibi series, so I think it should get bonus points for not being terrible.

I kinda liked Tau so I felt betrayed when the credits rolled and I realized the ai was voiced by a domestic abuser

But yeah I don't think I've seen a bad Maika Monroe project, it's just that I'd have probably avoided this one if I knew who else was in it beforehand

I think I missed the first trailer or two

 

Strange Darling was fun! Loved the main performances and a lot of the cinematography and lighting throughout.

Also, I revisited the first two Terrifiers and liked them way more on rewatch — can’t wait for 3.

 

Yeah Pulse was awesome. Much heavier in a thematic way than traditionally scary. Way way ahead of its time

 

I only ever saw the first terrifier. I think I’m good on those.

 

Afraid is fine. A lot less fun than M3gan. Really liked John Cho and Havana Rose Liu

 

Fwiw, the second one is quite a bit better but definitely the same vibe

 

I feel like I’ve seen all those movies without watching a single one

 

I still haven’t gotten through the second one the whole way but it’s very much its own weird specific thing.

 

LNWTD was wild! I’m gonna need to digest that one and rewatch it for sure. Time to go down the Reddit wormhole.

 

On the subject of remakes I enjoyed fright night remake

 

My honest nitpick with Late Night With The Devil is something I admit is silly but I think it would’ve looked better if was filmed using vintage TV cameras to better capture that TV look of the time.

 

Rewatched You’re Next and then Absentia. The latter was ok first effort just a bit boring since it took forever to actually get going.
