I saw the rumor tweets last night before I went to sleep and hoped it wasn't true. Goddamn that's just so awful

 

same, I woke up at 5AM to go to the bathroom and checked my phone and it still hadn't been confirmed or denied and my stomach sank further

 

Absolutely awful.

 

A damn shame. Completely avoidable tragedy.

 

He was a year younger than me but I went to school with Johnny my whole life and just found this out from friends on Instagram. He always seemed like a nice kid and I don’t really follow hockey, but I was stoked to see him get drafted. Just absolutely awful. Today was their sister’s wedding too.

edit: I meant to include how long we went to school together. And I knew him for a long time but I didn’t actually know him personally outside interactions at recess or in the hallway. Just wanted to clarify.

 

Feel for his Columbus teammates. Having this happen twice in three years is unfair.
