Wasn’t there a rumor of him joining LP last year!?

 

Wasn't everyone linked? I suspect this is to do with his memoir. He can't scream any more for one thing. (No hate to Deryck, just age comes for us all - remember when he played Faint they conspicuously cut it at the bridge)

he did a fantastic job at the Chester tribute show in 2017 but if he can't pull off the screams anymore in general, not sure how he'd be able to handle a full set-ish of Chester songs ...

I’m thinking (also personally hoping) his announcement is unrelated. I think a female vocalist makes more sense here, would lead to less inevitable comparisons, and while Deryck is a solid vocalist for pop punk he definitely doesn’t have Chester’s range and versatility. Going with someone less known is the way to go imo

 

Wasn’t it supposed to be Amy Lee? I always thought that rumour was too on the nose though.

Of course all theses people are gonna deny the rumors even if they are the singer. Can’t leak the shit before the official announcement. NDA’s exist for a reason

pretty wild coincidental timing, I bet Deryck & his team were like "well, shit."

 

Seeing a lot of chatter that it could be Bonnie from Stand Atlantic. Wishcasting or no, I think she would crush it. New albums aside, she has a fantastic voice. Would be a different sound while still having an incredible range.

Couldn’t fry like Chester…but seemingly nobody can.

The roguest rumour I just saw was a combo of Bonnie from Stand Atlantic and the Chester Bennington impersonator from the Portuguese LP tribute band

 

Sources are telling me it's Leo Dehoe.
