this is hilarious. I’d still ride for Salisbury and Hampton tbh, Tripoli’s pizza forever.

In other Boston news, the announcement that Cambridge Brewing Company is closing sucks so bad. I still love living in the city and there are many perks even this growingly corporatized version has, but fuck does it suck to watch more and more spots with unique personality or function close for biomed buildings and condos.

Eww surfwax no. It’s Cristy’s or it’s not worth the trip.

CBC closing sucks so bad. They still haven’t even done anything with the space that used to be Friendly Toast so I’m really hoping that area isn’t going to just become a ghost town

That’s a shame, we used to go to CBC all the time when my wife was living in Medford for grad school. Hopefully State Park stays open

State Park and the former Lord Hobo are my main reason to go to Kendall

I've had both. Tripoli's has cannoli's and other desserts, so they will always be the winner in my book.

I don't think I ever met someone who prefers Cristys over Tripolis until just now haha

You usually just go to Cristys when the line for Tripolis is too long

That's so funny because I've also never met anyone who prefers Tripolis before now

All the tripolis taste the littlest bit different to me. Lawrence tripolis is the best and has awesome bakery stuff but the beach one is good too. And Seabrook is kinda bad for some reason.

every time I’ve done a slice at both Cristy’s and trips I’ve wished I just got two at tripolis haha

What would living in Lowell be like? I need to move but am unsure if I can afford to remain in Salem without roommates. Lowell is way closer to work and I’m assuming it’s somewhat affordable based on reputation. Is there good food? Nightlife?

I would guess its affordable based on stuff you see. Im sure theres a good area for it. My daughter went there for school, lived off campus, and well.... at age 19 or so got into the wrong situation, and is living with the repercussions of that now but shes much less younger than you.

I would think there is a lot of night life, and activities.... And if its closer to work, thats a plus. If you have a car, then you can go anywhere really. And leaving the North Shore, for there would be a change... a change you might need!

Salem/North Shore can be expensive, sure. And if work is closer, thats a big bonus, maybe its time to focus on work, and self-care.

Good luck! (what town is work - maybe theres a different location as well., to look at?)

I grew up in Tewksbury which obviously neighbors Lowell, but I wish I could give more advice.

Lowell just doesn’t seem like the place for me. Not that it’s a “city/city”, it’s still way too busy for me. There’s parts that do seem a bit rundown and definitely don’t feel the “safest” but there are also parts that seem totally fine.

Lowell def has restaurants, a night life scene, etc. but any time we used to go out in Lowell it never, ever was a memorable or good time for me haha

Not my vibe but definitely doesn’t mean it’s bad!!! I had a good friend who just moved back to Brazil but he LOVED Lowell.

I have decided that I will probably leave Salem, which sucks, but I’m touring places in Beverly, Stoneham, and Andover this week, and have reached out about a place in Wakefield as well. Weirdly, apartments in Beverly seem to be a little less expensive than Salem which I did not expect, and I would love to live there.

I want to find somewhere comfy and quiet so I can focus on moving forward after an extremely long relationship!

My whole family is from Andover. It's a nice little town. I miss going to my grandma's house there growing up haha.

I think I heard it's getting expensive tho? My grandma was very poor and the house was a dump, but someone flipped it for over a million dollars
