I mean why are you calling them single issue voters call them what they are: people who won’t be complicit in a genocide. why do you have to boil peoples beliefs down to succinct phrases?

Tbh it's less characters to type on my phone and like I said it was never meant to downplay, I was simply describing the act of voting on a particular thing.

Once again if you're new to this convo, please point out where I say it's not a genocide. You can't. Because I wholeheartedly agree that it is one. I'm merely calling it an issue as it pertains to people's decisions to vote. Because that's what we call things that influence a decision to vote? While it's not comparable at all to other issues that people base their decision to vote, it's still something that factors into said decision. Like take the word topic, now THAT'S downplaying it....that feels bad even typing.

It sucks, but this doesn't sound much different from companies that make you fill out quarterly objectives met to help a manager determine their overall performance for raises and bonuses. Pretty common practice tbh

I would have thought people could infer a little better I guess? Especially since no one here is coming from a bad place, from differing viewpoints like genocide deniers or similar stupid ideas.

If the genocide is the deciding factor and someone says "I'm not voting for Kamala unless we get a ceasefire or we stop arming them", I'm basing their decision to not vote for her based on what they said. The genocide. They didn't say something like "I'm not voting for Kamala because the genocide and I think the economy was better under Trump". That wouldn't be a single issue voter, because that's 2 separate issues. 2 separate reasons. 2 separate things that are dictating the decision to vote.

That's where I'm coming from. Not from a place of downplaying, because c'mon. No one should be downplaying a genocide. I understand fully that it's a big reason that's influencing lots of people's decision to vote. And that's not a bad thing. It's not something to be taken lightly.
