About halfway through the record, and it absolutely rocks. Just pure sugary pop perfection, not at all watered-down by the Antonoff production. "Taste" is gonna be huge, I can just feel it in my bones.

 

Very excited for this. Feels refreshing to have only heard two songs, and for the album to be a normal length.

 

Jack only produced 4 of the 12 songs anyway (Please Please Please, Sharpest Tool, Slim Pickins, Lie to Girls", so his presence wouldn't overwhelm either way.

That being said, Sharpest Tool is absolutely a standout on first listen

 

PPP & Slim Pickins are my least favorite songs on the album, so that tracks lmao. Sharpest Tool is a bop though.

 

One of the things that rules about this album is that it's...short and sweet.

 

This is really great. I'm pretty impressed, having been less high on the singles than most. "Taste," "Sharpest Tool," "Coincidence," and "Juno" are all wonderful.

 

I remember that family guy where Meg becomes a pop star singer. That is the very essence of what Sabrina Carpenter is.

Lie to Girls is big TSwift - Clean vibes. Juno is one of my favorites so far. Breezy listen though.

This rules. Love the sound & vibe so, so much.

 

My reference points for pop are a little limited, but this feels like a mixture of folklore/evermore tswift, some Ariana Grande, with a little sprinkling of the acoustic/country influence you heard on Please Please Please. I think I like it. Her lyrical style doesn't resonate with me sometimes (I'm a 30+ year old dude so to be expected, haha) but the songs are good enough for me to not be too bothered by that most of the time.

 

This is so good. I don’t want to say I’m surprised because I think “Espresso” is one of the best songs of the year but this is really good. Way more Kacey Musgraves influence than I was anticipating. Only a shade or two away from Golden Hour.

 

Please Please Please and Slim Pickins could easily have been written for Musgraves for sure.
