letting her speak is ultimately cheap talk. just like talking about how much you don't like the suffering in Gaza is cheap talk. But the crowd is full of people who eat that shit up like fucking cinnamon toast crunch. Its a way to get a slam dunk W without actually having to commit to any policy changes

Not a bad speech at all. While relatively safe she hit enough points that should resonate with most people.

The whole pro life/pro choice language had been focus grouped to death for years. They always found voters reacted more positively to talking about "choice" and freedom rather than abortion and etc. I think they finally realized it's not the taboo it used to be anymore for most people.

Speaking of abortion it just reminded me that I saw a car with a bumper sticker the other day that said "Pro-choice? No, I'm anti-children" and frankly I agree

 

Just discovered her recently and her music isn't what I would typically listen to but I fucking love her and she has one of the best live voices I have ever heard

Speech definitely felt to me like it was missing another section to two to really wrap it up and get more policy in there. The bits talking about her backstory were good. And I think it does probably help to call out Trump. But overall it felt like it was missing something. Its okay for Walz's speech to be a bit light he's ultimately just there to look pretty but dems can't win this election on "we're not Trump" alone
