Yeah it’s strategic and evil and I won’t be voting for them. I can’t square people supporting such straightforwardly evil policy and then think about supporting them.

They might need to do a ceasefire to win, it could cost them the election! But they really love supporting the genocide I guess, it’s so important to them that they’re willing to piss off so much of their base.

I don’t care if someone votes for Harris because they think it’s important to beat Trump. It’s just disingenuous to claim that vote is on behalf of stopping the genocide in Palestine. Every indication from the Democratic Party is that they are going to continue arming Israel indefinitely. So stop trying to make that case, there isn’t one.

The Dems should be doing an arms embargo and arguing with Zionists that Trump would be worse, not the anti genocide crowd.

Anytime someone talks about “freedom and prosperity” they instantly get put on the pay-no-mind list.

Agreed on the last part, but still will point out that there were policies passed under both Obama and Trump that almost definitely would have never gotten through a Clinton presidency. That's not even getting into the rhetoric and stated positions which has changed more dramatically than what's actually passed.

This reminds me I need to get back into reading my Rebels book. The entire first chapter was about the corporate takeover of Dems during the Carter Admin and I loved it but then life and other shit got in the way of me getting much deeper into the book.

yes with nothing to support your claim and everything to support that they don’t want to do a ceasefire.

I want this to be true but there is no pressure after the election so realistically that seems even more hopeless.
Yeah except here they aren’t even holding out the football. Charlie Brown is just kicking at air. There have been no promises to take back

Wait so even though I admit "they could always do a ceasefire afterwards and are just being hush hush now to not lose voters" or w/e along the lines I said, all because I didn't expand to your liking, that's the reason for being selective when to choosing to argue? K that's nice to know.

imagine if they get a joint Beyonce/Taylor performance and winds up getting overshadowed by the fact that they had 20 minutes for that, but couldn't find 5 minutes in the schedule to let Ruwa speak

See this is where we differ. Y'all might even be realists on this issue while I remain hopeful that any set of circumstances could alter the course.

I obviously do not believe that anything about Trump has any bearing on demanding that Democrats don’t support genocide, because I’m not that kinda sicko.

However. I do have to note that… this cynical coalition-building that’s been suggested? That partners with queer people only because they’re an important voting block (a thing that was said, in spite of the party sucking shit on trans rights)? And also with “the Jews” (still can’t believe how antisemitic that one poster got, lol, my gosh)? Throwing Palestinians under the bus “strategically”?

It’s against a game show host who’s already lost the popular vote in both of his past campaigns, and only won the electoral college the first time because of Clinton’s specific worthlessness. A guy who picked JD Vance as his running mate this year and has had no idea how to pivot his campaign to oppose Harris.

This is the supernatural evil that we must be willing to sacrifice Gazan children in order to stop.
