Movie popcorn is delicious, but I'm a firm believer in going to the movies with a girl who has a purse and sneaking candy from the dollar store in lol

 

I took my mother to see Alien: Romulus this weekend and she made us stop at a dollar store on the way to get candy. We always did it when we would go when I was a kid. Cookie dough bites are hard to find in stores though.

 

Haha yeah true, I don't see those very often. I'm a Twizzler or Reeses Pieces guy, myself

 

That's what I figured and I'm too socially anxious to even potentially be annoying

 

I only watched 30 Rock recently and it really did capture the slow decay of pop culture.

I have a friend who knows a guy that was very close to the project. The whole thing was a mess. But Eli Roth was convinced that it was his James Gunn-sized ticket to the big time. Hope he eats shit forever.

The reason “Anaconda” is considered any type of success is because it was such a disaster that somehow fell ass backwards into casting a ton of future superstars and had an unhinged performance from Jon Voight. That can’t be replicated.

 

The sequel Anacondas is worth a watch.

I just think most actors are this way. It's a gig and when it ends it's on to the next thing and forget about the previous one. You ever read any articles in the Random Roles series? Cult classics, beloved game-changers, half the time the actors/actresses are like "Oh yeah, forgot about that one."

Especially for someone who's been around as long as Keaton, sometimes you're just doing a job.

 

I'm not teaching Brit Lit this year, but for 10 years I'd always tell them "You don't want me to show you this whole movie. It sucks. I promise"

They usually vehemently disagree and try to get me to show it.

Then after we watch the dragon scene excerpted, they often thank me for not making them sit through that whole thing.

You know how bad a movie you have to be for teenagers to not want to burn a class watching you?

 

One of my kids did their project on a show called Baddies, and it sounded like Beowulf is Shakespeare in comparison.

Other than the near-nudity, the biggest problem is the major plot divergence about halfway through. All the kids who didn't pay attention are going to take that as the real story and answer all the test questions accordingly. I saw it happen when we were reading Frankenstein and I showed the 1931 film.
