I think the rest of it is either stuff I don’t or won’t get into (comparing casualties is not a good idea imo so agreed there) or stuff I disagree with the point being made. It doesn’t matter that Ukraine wanted better relations with the U.S. and EU than it did with Russia, it doesn’t make what Russia is doing any more understandable or justified or less horrible. Especially since there’s been some clear reports of ethnic cleansing there! Ukraine having a military that can fight back doesn’t lessen the horror.

 

I think there is an objective difference between waging a genocidal war against a nation and waging a genocidal war against a captive civilian population (with our full backing)

Right, if you’re opposed to what’s happening in Ukraine then good news the government here is already doing more or less what you want them to do. Committing a genocide against a captive population is something our government is actively supporting.
