Wait you’re allowed to post in this thread without seeing the Happy Death Day movies?

Also, it’s not trippy or a mindfuck, but in the thriller realm and think it deserves more eyes. Highly recommend Tell No Lies (2006; Prime, Kanopy, Tubi, Freeve).

  8. the red band trailer for Kraven the Hunter that played before Alien lastnight looks nuts. Might be the only Marvel related movie I’ve ever been interested in checking out haha.

I hope I live long enough to find out why James McAvoy is that fucking big in Speak No Evil

  10. It feels so unnecessary to the plot. I mean, I've only read about it, but still

I’ve never seen the original so I don’t know if it makes sense for the story yet. But I just can’t see why he’d have to compete with Henry Cavill to be in a horror movie. Lol

  14. Some mindfuck movies I rock with off the top of my head:

Donnie Darko (my second favorite movie ever)
    Beau is Afraid
    Bug
    Resolution
The Killing of a Sacred Deer
    They Look Like People

the gimmick that the killer takes the costume of whoever they kill is so simple but so, so good. it really keeps you on edge the whole time

also David Copperfield is just randomly like a pivotal part of the movie lmao

For me, Coherence is always the film I show anyone when I'm getting to know them as a window into my personality and the things I like. I love how it gets better every time you watch it. I'm also fascinated by the way it was shot. I just read they're making some type of sequel which I'm definitely interested in but wondering if it'll have the same premise. It seems like it may not be as good a second time through. I'm also excited for the creators television series Shatter Belt. Not sure when it'll release but I'll be there on day one.

Also did Immaculate! That ending was great and I admire Sydney’s commitment.

  23. Be forewarned, they are essentially the same movie and you will likely prefer whichever one you like first lol

If you prefer fucked up, fun, B-movie schlock (like I do), go with Immaculate. If you prefer the same story but treated seriously with strong acting, cinematography and creepy visuals, go with The First Omen.

  24. Wow, Cemetery Man is absolutely bonkers and bleak and so fun all at the same time. There's a striking lack of actual plot, but it's like Clive Barker wrote his own version of Taxi Driver with zombies and then early Peter Jackson or Sam Raimi directed it. It won't be for everyone but I highly recommend, the Last Drive-In episode was a great time. Scorcese called it one of his favorite Italian films of the 90s
