what’s truly amazing is you see so many bad ads on such a constant barrage that it becomes white noise. I legit don’t know the ad you’re talking about. they’ve done studies that Americans are almost immune to the first 100 times seeing an ad whereas most of the rest of the world are in the 7-8 range.

I know from whenever I've visited the US I've always been overwhelmed by the number of pharmaceutical and lawyer ads that get blasted 100 times over that we rarely get in the UK. Everything else is so saccharine, optimistic and cheesy which I don't think we get as much imo.

 

It's the insane music choices and weird jingles for me. Everyone is either shouting (WE GOT THE MEATS) or singing a wildly out of place jingle (whatever that weird Burger King one is).

 

I mean who among us hasn’t had a romantic date sitting in a bath tub overlooking the ocean on a seaside cliff while forty seven side effects are listed quietly by Busta Rhymes on a gentle breeze

I rely solely on streaming games and don’t watch any other TV, lucked out and youtube never went back to giving me ads after cancelling their ad free package. So with that the only ads i’m subject to are the half time ads for whatever game i’m currently streaming, and I almost always use half time for showers/food prep or whatever so thankfully I just don’t catch much these days. Genuinely for the best because if I pay attention long enough I just get really hung up on the evil behind advertising and can so quickly get into quite a grumpy line of thinking lol.
