what's even wilder is how like, after the UK elections Starmer was literally PM the next day. Meanwhile we spend two months dicking around before we go "okay lets have the actual election that counts where the people who everyone voted to be the guys to vote for the president actually vote for the president" and then another couple of weeks before we're like "okay fine you're the president now"

 

U.S. presidential election campaigns should last no more than 6 months every four years. I feel like come this December people on here and the mainstream political media will begin speculating who will run in 2028.

I’m okay with a year tops, 6 months to primary and 6 for general. Gives us a lot more time to find out shit about the candidates. But it really should be compressed down to like 6-8 months. Candidates declare by January 31st. Primary elections held in April and May. Conventions in July/August, general in November

 

never mind 2028, some of us have already been speculating 2032

 

Yeah the primary voting should not be spaced out over 6 months. Have like 4 super tuesdays in May so all the states vote within a month. None of this first state votes in January and the last one votes in June.
