The Brad Paisley song should be all over country radio.

I’d watch a 40min documentary on the making of this album. Seems like it was a good time!

Real solid hit-to-miss ratio. Man can sing a hook and the sometimes gravelly texture of his voice does nice things in this genre, especially with sometimes MOR country songwriting. “What Don’t Belong To Me” and “M-E-X-I-C-O” are my favorite.

Lol he pulled a Taylor. So basically you could make an album with features and no features. Curious about the quality of these new songs. Not showing up on my Apple Music yet.

the first 18 songs are pretty cut and dry bro country but they're also a pretty damn good time

I hate that this is becoming a trend.

As very much not a country guy but a very big Post Malone guy, this is...fine? I enjoyed a good portion of it, but agree that it would be a lot better without features. I think that's part of the reason I loved Austin so much last summer, being a true completely solo record.

Kind of think the features are the only thing keeping this from being totally faceless.

I'm also not really a fan of "surprise! second album!", but my knee-jerk reaction after a first listen is that the second disk is quite a bit better than the proper album.

Yeah, for sure. And if we're being honest, he's often adopting the style of the guest of the track. "I Had Some Help" sounds like a Wallen song. "Finer Things" sounds like a Hank Jr. song. "Never Love You Again" sounds like a Sierra Ferrell song.

Agreed the guests definitely do most of the heavy lifting. This project could have been offensively awful/corny, surprised it came together the way it did.

There’s an incredible 13-16 song album in here for sure. I think my least favorite on the main album is Losers (tired of the “if you’re a loser, you’re in the right place, because we’re losers too!” trope) and the closer. The Dolly song is good when she’s singing harmony but her verse is pretty cringey to me. Stapleton and Strings songs are my favorite with features, along with unfortunately the Waller song.

Also, what is up with these modern country singers? Some of these dudes sound like they are doing the most over the top fake country accent that’s being auto tuned to death.

I don't know if it's because of my overwhelming aversion to Morgan Wallen, but that one is actually one of my least favorites. I don't like his voice at all.

"Guy For That", "Nosedive", "California Sober", and "M-E-X-I-C-O" are my favorites on the main album, I think.

I have long despised country music as a whole growing up in a small cornfield town where all the shitheels worshipped the genre. This album is so breezy that I can’t help but dig it.

PSA: I know I say this a lot, but if you “generally despise country music” and you like this album, you do not despise country music.
