  6. Would much prefer they limit the number of pitcher roster spots to 12 or something. I also highly doubt an innings minimum would ever happen…or that it would be 6 and not 5

someone gets paid by mlb to just make dumb shit up that drives discourse

  9. Like what, in a situation similar to *Braves fans stop reading* 2019 NLDS game 5 you’re just stuck with Folty after he gives up 7 runs while recording only one out in the first? Sorry bud, gotta go six even if it takes 400 pitches to get there????

no it's 6 minimum unless they give up 4 runs, hit 100 pitches, or have an injury (and they'd be required to spend time on the IL)

I imagine it's just to drive offense to engage casual audiences, that's what always happens in sports

the "we want fans to get their money's worth when they expect to see a pitcher" line is so bogus

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

I should have heeded your advice. I had actually managed to suppress that nightmare for some time.

I don't think I hate that as much as I thought I would, but I do wonder how many starters are going less than 6 innings if they haven't given up 4 runs, hit 100 pitches or had an injury?

I like that the games aren't running too long, but am hesitant about constant tinkering, especially as pitching injuries mount (tho one of the comments is about how this could help with that potentially but all just speculation)

the article does point out that this is just in the *being talked about* stage so it would be years and years down the road before it affects mlb

I would really love if they got rid of the man on second in extras....that's the one change I really despise

I remember when SPers who didn’t pitch at least 6 innings were #5 starters or just had a bad game.
