Wasn’t Chappell just playing against Jungle though?

I didn't even pick up on Radical/Rise alternating like that. Hah. That's kinda cool.

Either way it goes - Radical and Rise next to each other on either the west or north end of the grounds, NOFX wherever they don't place those.

Should just bring in a rotating stage.

Gotta say, this isn’t their best lineup by any means. But I will say this is their funnest and most diverse in terms of genre.

2014 was the best lineup. They blew the bag that year.

Oh you meant The Japanese House, and that was just a 15 minute overlap but I get what you are saying, it’s bound to happen

Hot mulligan > NFG > Sum 41 > the offspring > FOB is pretty fucking fantastic for me.
Same with sweet pill > the armed > sincere engineer > beach bunny.

If I had to guess the layout will be similar to 2016 with rise and radical being next to each other where the rise stage is. And the rock stage will be where nofx world is

Everyone on Reddit is talking about The Hives vs. The Armed conflict. Idk much about The Hives but I’ve heard The Armed are incredible live.

Anyone here do VIP? We've done GA all our years there. Not sure how crowded the VIP area gets typically. Not considering Deluxe/Deluxe+ but am considering potentially upgrading to VIP.

  15. I've only heard like two recorded Hives songs but they're one of the best live bands I've ever seen.

The Hives is so much fun live! Definetly a must see if you havent seen them before, their frontman is a showman and knows how to make a crowd have fun

BUT I saw a few minutes of The Armed at Pitchfork 2022 and I was blown away, definetly want to see a full set of them.

If your just doing normal vip it all depends on the time of day but it does get pretty crowded the later the day goes on. And they limit access to it at the end of the night from the fest side so you can’t access it unless you have a locker.

Feels like maybe easier to get a normal locker if we do decide to do VIP. Going to consider upgrading, at least for this year.

    Thanks for the info!

Other than a couple conflicts, this worked out pretty nicely for me.

    Takeaways:
-Sum 41->Offspring->Fall Out Boy will be a fun friday night.
-Basement vs. Manchester Orchestra sucks, hoping for a Basement aftershow to resolve that
-No idea what to do about SoCo vs. LJG/Catbite OpIvy. I want to see SoCo but not like a huge fan so don't really want to do an aftershow, but also don't want to miss the OpIvy set. Might have to split that one.

As someone who's driving 8-10 hrs to When we were young and lives in a big state that most festivals are either 2 hr drive or 5-6 hrs, it's crazy reading about how many made a big deal of an 11 mile difference of a venue, but it does suck that they messed up a lot of people's hotel plans by changing venues

Difference in lifestyles. Many people live in Chicago and don’t own a car or don’t want to drive to a festival when there’s public transit. It’s apples and oranges compared to what you experience.

I think many people were mad at the move to Bridgeview because it was forcing them to get out of their comfort zone and go to a place they have never been at.

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

Made the tough decision to pass on the fest this year. Really, the only band I desperately needed to see was Pavement, but it's not really worth the frustration of walking back and screwing around with transit. I still have my hotel though so I might keep it and go for aftershows on Friday and Saturday.
