Childish Gambino does pop punk on Running Around and it sounds fantastic

 

I already loved the majority of this but it's growing on me more and more with every listen. The songs start sounding like they make more sense together the more you're used to it

 

Seeing him tonight. Have no idea what to expect.

 

Really really great show, first half is focused on the newer stuff and the second half has a lot more older stuff (including a song from Culdesac)

one notable absence though that bummed me out

He did Saturday?! Goddammit Donald, release the studio version!!

 

The setlist is fucking incredible, holy shit. The amount of old songs makes me so happy

How much of Do Ya Like, Heartbeat, Freaks & Geeks and Bonfire did he do?

 

Holy hell that set list is incredible.

 

Probably like, at least a minute of each? Maybe more. Hard to remember

 

The production on this tour is really nuts too

Yep. Looks like he’s playing Urn or Saturday in the rotation spot, but everything else is the same.

 

Blacklist any city that chooses Urn over Saturday.

 

Urn is one of his best songs. tbh I'd be happy either way

 

I’d take Urn unless he officially releases Saturday before my show which is unlikely lol

 

I'm torn between sharing too many details and staying vague to preserve the experience for others, so I'll just say a few more things:

• He's doing this tour "for the fans" and really puts his full self into every performance
• Hearing his songs with live instrumentation incorporated wherever possible was astounding
• If you're a fan of the newest LP you'll leave very satisfied given the amount of tracks he covers and what he does with them

Damn. that means they were better fans than Milwaukee. Which means they were better fans than OKC since he told us in Milwaukee that we were better fans than OKC. Gimme another shot, Don!!!
