man I did not like this at all. I barely remember the first two (apart from Zazie Beetz my beloved), did they also have that structure where every big scene was preceded by a "get ready nerds this scene is big" wink, then the scene would happen and be punctuated by a joke midway through to remind us this is the part of the scene where you laugh. shit gave me a headache lol

I will say shoutout to the scene with Dafne and Hugh to remind us that this movie coulda been good with anybody but Levy directing it. and Snipes still got it too, I would watch another Blade movie with him in a heartbeat

I liked the beginning but the fun went way down when I realized the majority of this quirky rule-breaking meta movie would be taking place in 2-3 desert void sets. I feel like MCU films used to jump all over real-feeling locations and feel more dynamic and the last half dozen of them have been pretty tame as far as defaulting to 1-2 main locations with the only real variety coming from full CGI fake world sequences that are cool but still feel like they’re in an uncanny vacuum non-location.

 

Can we acknowledge how great it was that every Deadpool and the TVA head all treated Peter as if he was a living God?

 

My bf was excited for this movie so he has me watch the two other Deadpool movies to prepare. I prob should've watched some of the wolverine movies tho cause I didn't really know what was going on there but followed along fine enough. Surprisingly I did get most of the cameo bits. It was prob my least favorite of the 3 Deadpool movies tho. The pacing just felt off. I rly felt the length. But I didn't think it was bad. The idea of letting other past heroes get to have an ending was nice.

My favorite metajoke was Wesley Snipes' Blade saying "There's only one Blade, and there will only ever be one Blade" then Deadpool looks at the camera

 

I finally saw this tonight. Saw it in 3D, 4DX too, so I was rockin and rollin in my chair.

I really enjoyed it, had a good time. It had laughs, it had action, and it had heart.

I do kind of wish Elektra, Blade, and the rest had more to do. Laura especially felt short-changed, but I'm glad Channing Tatum finally got to live out his dream, and was a better Gambit than I expected.

Also, right about the point where they confronted the Deadpool Army and Deadpool ranted about stopping with the multiverse is when I felt the meta jokes start to get a little long in the tooth. You can only wink at the audience so much before it starts to feel like you're actively trying to sabotage yourself.

A scene I loved that no one has mentioned is at the end with Peter and B-15; Paradox's outburst was just perfect. I sincerely hope this means we get Peter cameos whenever we see the TVA.

Anyway, as for Feige rating this an 8 on the importance scale... I do wonder if he means less about the film itself, which would make absolutely no sense, and more about what it opens the door for. I mean, why was Thor crying over Deadpool? What's that about? And what is Wolverine going to do with his newfound lease on life?

 

On another note, holy fuck 4DX has a fucking nightmare amount of trailers. I think we saw a trailer for every single film coming out for the rest of this year.

 

I am guessing the Thor-Deadpool thing is a Secret Wars tease.

 

Oh my God if Peter shows up in the next season of Loki (if there is one) I'm gonna be grinning ear to ear like an idiot

 

Pretty sure that series is done. They had 2 seasons planned.

 

Also thought the actress/writing of Cassandra Nova was terrible and disappointing

 

i hated this movie but i kinda disagree. emma, hugh and Matthew were kinda all to recommend from this.

 

hugh and matthew (especially) were good, got really annoyed at all of the f-bombs from wolvy that came across like a 5th grader learning how to curse for the first time

 

that's a ryan reynolds problem, blame him

 

I thought everyone was swell and peachy-keen.

 

I do however, besides my wish for more out of the guest stars, wish that Nova had lived so they could mine her character for drama with Xavier once he's finally brought in for realsies.

Also, for how they hyped the Wolverine vs Sabretooth fight, it was sure over quick.

I think if I were making this film it would easily be three hours.
