I really liked Afterlife. This one… not so much. I was falling asleep. I don’t dislike Rudd here but it felt pretty mailed in. Finn might as well have not been there. It didn’t have the charm of Afterlife. The story wasn’t bad just not executed well. I like that Aykroyd and Hudson had enough to do. Didn’t really need much more Murray.

  2. Finn might as well have not been in the first one, either

I seem to recall him having some sort of plot with his friends or some shit. But yeah not much for him to do there either. Still more than this.

Watched it for the first time on Netflix.

I was hoping I would like this more than RT reviews suggested. Unfortunately, I didn't. There wasn't any witty banter at all. Most of the comedic attempts were incredibly corny and embarrassing. Just felt like mindless action sequences and cast members talking about relics and shit. Terrible job by Gil Kenan.

Safe to say we arent getting a third movie in this new series? This one seems to have flopped. Doesnt seem like there is much GB interest in this age where nostalgia is everywhere.

The Ghostbusters nerds got all the nostalgia they said they wanted and they didn’t show up. But no, I don’t think it’s over. Sony will milk it for years to come.

3D animation? Ugh. No thanks. They should have done animation like in Masters of the Universe and Castlevania on Netflix. "Tonally in line with recent Ghostbusters films" doesn't excite me either. Sony basically presses all the wrong buttons when it comes to this franchise.

Personally, I thought Frozen Empire was the best since the original. It felt like a live action extension of the animated series and was a lot of fun.

I didnt love it in the theater and tried to rewatch it on Netflix last week, but barely got through it. It has its moment, just too bloated with characters.

  18. It would be the worst movie I've seen all year if Imaginary didn't exist. It does not bring me any joy to say that. I'm glad others got something out of it.

  20. Yeah it felt long as hell and they just kept amassing Ghostbusters of various ages to shoot Marvel lasers at a video game boss by the end

Isn't that how they all end though? This one at least switched it up with the Firekeeper.

  22. Sure, but the CG was bad imo and when you've seen that play out four times already, it starts to get pretty tired

Boy this felt like they wrote it in a day. Felt like nothing happened for an hour and 40 minutes and then they fought one of the least scary CGI monsters ever for 5 minutes. Movie was beyond lazy

  24. Real bottom of the barrel stuff, even when I look back on the year as a whole. This thing stunk

Cant believe they are potentially making a third one. I'll certainly watch it, but these have proved to show that there is not much interest in Ghostbusters 40 years after its peak.
