Maybe I’m crazy but nothing announced has changed my interest at all!

I still kind of think it’s lame that they’re essentially doing a RSR clone. I know the theming appears to be different and the layout will be different to DCA, but RSR is like the standout attraction of DCA. Opening another one in MK takes away from how special that ride is to the park.

And like, I know both resorts have a lot of the same rides, but I was hoping DCA would have something to kind of separate themselves from the other parks

One of the rumors that Mickey Views (who was the first parks news guys to report the Cars in Frontierland news 4 months ago) also said was definitely happening but maybe postponed, was that Pecos Bill's in MK was going to get re-themed to a Tiana creole/cajun restaurant. Surprised that wasn't in D23.

Tiana opening date and the Mando update to Smugglers Run (which I think will be both parks) too

So yeah basically. That's really lame.

There’s also all the DCA stuff if we’re talking the entire DL resort

Yeah I saw those which should be cool, but they need to stop neglecting Disneyland proper.

Seeing a lot of people online moaning about the California theme of DCA being degraded by IP, as if they all forgot that original theme was a massive failure and the park didn't start to do better until they brought in all the Pixar stuff.

I don't know that it was the theming that was a failure so much as the park was just bad when it opened. If it had dope rides and attractions with the same theme, it would've done fine.

But they're at a crossroads where this will get rid of a lot of the theme and will make the rest a little awkward so they either reinforce the theme elsewhere or just abandon it. I don't know that I care too much either way, but it should have something to differentiate it from the other parks.

Part of me is a bit sad that most of what DCA originally was will be completely gone, but it’s for the best.

I think DCA has suffered a bit of an identity crisis and these new rides will really put it more towards “second park with alternative rides” instead of “California-culture-themed park.”

Not going to lie, the absolute whining online from 40 year old men about the re-theming an area of the park that barely anyone used is incredibly cringe. Some of the hot takes i’ve seen on Twitter are embarrassing. If anything it’s frustrating that they don’t expand the existing footprint, but if they’re going to re-theme a land, at least it’s the least exciting part of MK. Hopefully they don’t walk back on the concept/design, because if they can make a fusion of Cars Land and Grizzly Peak from DCA it will be very very cool.

Yea it’s annoying they were pumping up expansion and were like nah, let’s just fill in the lake. I’ve been to Disney 6 times and never been to Tom Sawyer Island or rode the boat. Not to mention their operation hours are like six hours of the day.

I think they had both ready, saw the mid reaction, and decided to change it. I just thought they’d wait until after the Musfasa movie to see how that did before pulling the trigger.

I get the nostalgia and sentimentality, but theme park fans treating attractions like they're UNESCO World Heritage sites the past few days is very weird.

Boat ride is great. Anything to sit down for a bit is a plus for me.

Finalized my Euro park trip for next July…Alton Towers, Efteling, Phantasialand, and Europa Park.

Was hoping to get Port Aventura added in there but always next time.
