This window is so weird. The top 3 have made almost no signings. City signed a winger from themselves. We signed a defender from Italy. That’s it.

Is it that clubs feel there aren’t enough good options out there?

 

I hope he fancies this and a deal can be struck. He's kind of slipped back to his bad old ways and isn't really of the standard we need anymore. Would like to see him go enjoy his football somewhere and be playing as many games as he wants.

 

I think PSR has started to bite down on all the English clubs (other than Chelsea), which seems to have made clubs more reticent to let anyone good go without getting absolutely massive fees for them. Also, it's been creeping in for years, but the Prem money is now so vast that the lesser fancied teams can afford quality players and can't so easily be bullied into selling them.

Teams are having to be a lot more sensible with their signings (not Chelsea) than they were only 5 years ago. It's probably a better model overall, but it makes the transfer window pretty drab.
