Not judging and you don't have to share, but how does mental illness impact your cooking? I'm Bipolar, I don't cook at all but that's more of a laziness/choice on my part.

If you're a meat-eater, thermometer is your friend. Sear protein, put in oven to finish. Paired with roasted veg (our fave is frozen brussels sprouts tossed with oil and salt) and canned fruit over cottage cheese with granola, and you've got a quick, simple meal/dessert.

  6. not speaking for him but in general I feel like if you have depression it’s hard to meal plan, grocery shop, and commit to cooking and then cleaning up because your will power to do anything is already so low

I definitely would not eat brussel sprouts or cottage cheese but I like the idea of searing first! Haven't done that. I love having a digital meat thermometer now. I had a manual one with a needle but it was very thick for thin cut meats and would take Soo long to read a temp. I definitely should invest in an oven one too

I feel like I haven't had strawberry jelly in 20 years. I feel like I enjoyed it? But not as much as grape

    God: Rock beats scissors.
    Devil: Oh. Yeah. Yeah, o…okay.
God: …Best two out of three, buddy?
    Devil: Oh. Yeah! Okay, sure.
God: Hey paper beats rock, you won that one! Nice.
    Devil: Hey thanks.
God: Oh wow…scissors beats paper. You won again. So I guess that means…huh.
Devil: …You wanna go for best three out of four?
God: I mean only if you want to -
Devil: Yeah, totally. It’s fine. Hey! Rock beats scissors. That’s yours, big guy. So that means…we’re…tied.
    God: Yeah.
    Devil: One more round.
    God: Yep.
Devil: And then one of us has to -
    God: Yeah.
    Devil: ….Man.
    God: I know.
Devil: What are we gonna do?
    God: I have no idea.

I air fry everything…chicken, salmon, fish. I wouldn’t call it ‘cooking’ I just buy raw shit, marinate it then put it in the air fryer for 10 minutes and bam, delicious dinner.

what you’re attributing to laziness is likely more of your mental illness than you think

that’s what I mean when I say it’s easy but just remove air fryer and insert oven if you don’t have one or sautee shit on the stove idk it’s not hard if you just keep it simple. I think of a protein I want, a flavor profile, and a side or two like veggies or rice or something

I mean yea, you are probably correct. I don't have a problem completing tasks I'm highly motivated to do. But the prospect of preparing food for a length of time just to eat it in 2-3 minutes is severely unappealing to me. Even if I have absolutely nothing else to do that day. I'd rather microwave something shitty than take 10 minutes to prepare things. It's one of those things I can pretend I'm going to change about myself but I'm really not so better not to feel stressed about it and put myself down about it.

Celine Dion was asked to play at his inauguration and said no. I'm sure she'll be enthused about this.
