Getting nervous about the show this Saturday… hopefully Tom can recover.

 

They have a month off at the end of August but yeah, it's kind of surprising how much touring they've done when it was an issue for Tom in the past...Hopefully he doesn't get burned out.

 

I’m guessing having his kids grown up or near grown(?) probably helps a lot, along with having his wife on tour with him.

… but even outside of the sickness, he does seem to be hitting a touring wall.

 

My show is tomorrow lol so Saturday is my BACKUP option if it comes down to it. Ha.

 

I edited it out originally but yeah. Hopefully floor works well for you. We had pit tickets and everywhere we tried to stand they kept telling us we can’t stand there we gotta leave and there was nowhere to go (there were big open spots on the back sides of the stage too, couldn’t stand there apparently), I kept asking where the hell we supposed to go then, I bought pit tickets?? and they just shrugged so we kept walking around it was annoying as hell, eventually some people must’ve left for the bathroom or something we were able to move in past the line. I think by the time blink was going they had to of allowed people past the line because there were plenty behind us, but just was stressful and frustrating getting in when venue staff were playing volleyball with us which dampened the mood for a bit. Also, they just might be a weird outlier, but had a couple friends who must’ve got last minute nosebleeds who were messaging me complaining and they ended up leaving early because it sounded so bad, which kinda blows my mind. It sounded good to me in the pit. I can’t imagine it being that bad you’d leave early lol. Saw on Reddit someone got floor seats that apparently didn’t exist when he got down there so they sent them to the pit lol. Im from the Milwaukee area, but the United Center pit experience was definitely more chill and better for me last year. Just was a stressful time last night. :S

 

as far as I can remember Tom always gets sick and is actively recovering on your. I remember when matt from matt and kim did some tom songs a while back.

I remember the one silver-lining of being sick back in the day (middle school) was feeling like I could sing nasally like Tom or Billie Joe with ease lol

Not one to spread rumors but my spidey senses are tingling regarding some show cancellation stuff happening the next night or two. First of all the routing is weird to go from Chicago, to Minneapolis, to Milwaukee and then down to KC, STL and back to Detroit. If Tom is down bad, it would make sense to just cut out the Missouri shows and go straight to Detroit to rest for a few days.

would be fucked as they didn’t hit these cities the last tour - but if he is really bad, it would be smart to do.

also I haven’t seen any posts*, discord interactions, etc from the crew today… furthermore posts indicating they were in KC now for a day off.

*their pyro tech is in KC.. so my theory may be wrong

 

I’m the final night of this run so I hope Tom’s voice holds up until then

Yeeeah I think you were right with the routing being a factor. Makes total sense to just regroup, get some rest and not make the move to Missouri then travel BACK north.

Like you said though, it is a bummer though to cancel both Missouri dates simply because they didn’t come within 6-ish hours last tour. Hope Tom can finish strong though!

It wouldn’t surprise me also if Mark or Travis caught what Tom has too and that’s why they canceled. Still really sucks for all the Missouri peeps, my heart goes out to y’all

 

Just glad we took the leap to go to Lolla now.

 

A lot of people I know, including myself, caught COVID (or similar illnesses) at Lollapalooza. Wouldn't be surprised if Tom did too.
