  5. I will chime in and say I have not watched every movie oicke daonfar (though they are all on my list) but I do watch most of them and would not hold it against anyone who needs to bow out from time to time. Just watch when you can, report back and have fun

Alone was a pretty solid thriller. I wanted the worst things to happen to this mother fucker lol

  7. I gotta finish Dial M for Murder and Thief for other podcasts/clubs, but I am looking forward to watching this one this week! And I may circle back to the original pick when we can so I can discuss with @jkauf.

Starting this now. Excited to see it's from the guy that did Sick. I liked that one quite a bit.

Okay, that was a pretty legit little thriller. Really like atmosphere in the first act and the survival horror aspects in the third. Good stuff. That director has some chops, it's funny that he's done a bunch of Universal Soldier movies.

  12. I did not know this and I did NOT like Sick, but that was definitely a writing issue for me and not directing. I remember it being pretty lean and mean.

I definitely understand not being into the COVID stuff because yeah I had to try hard to put that aside. The slasher aspects were pretty good though.

  15. Alone started to lose me with the sheer minimalism (and realism) in the second act, but then all of the survival stuff I was totally on board for. Great performances, good flick!

And I think mine will compliment it. It's another one that's been on my list for a while (a first watch for me) and one of Tarantino's favorites. 1981's Australian serial-killer-hunting thriller, Roadgames, starring Jamie Lee Curtis. Looks like it's on Prime and Peacock!

I watched the Alone trailer last night which seemed to give away the whole thing.

Unless theres a bunch of twists, it felt like I saw the whole movie in 3 minutes.

Gonna try and get caught up this weekend. I still never went back to finish Frogs :(
Life has been crazy lately but I’m gonna aim to do Frogs and Alone. Just watched Roadgames last year for the first time and it’s great!

  20. I mean, the movie is pretty solid but it is very straightforward. Not a bad thing, just the kind of movie it is

it’s pretty dumb but also clever in some ways

  22. I still have about 45 minutes left, but I did not expect this to be as funny and charming as it is. Not very horror-centric (at least not yet), and for that, I apologize, but I am really enjoying it. Almost Spielbergian in tone.

  23. Yeah, this was fun. Petered out a little bit for me after Jamie Lee temporarily exits, and aain, not as scary or horror-adjacent as I expected, but the very last scene made me smile. A goofy good time.

Watching Roadgames now. Haha this is like Duel meets National Lampoon's Vacation.
