I understand they feel jilted - I believe he got citizenship purely to play in the Olympics there under their "naturalization for exceptional foreign citizens" part of their Civic Code.

For me, though, it didn't make a lot of sense for him to play for a country other than Cameroon or the US.

Yeah that’s fair. I think his US citizenship was approved like two months after France did. Obv I don’t know his thinking but France may have been a backup and they approved it sooner?

 

Yea I think it’s because France thought it was a done deal. France doesn’t need an another center though. I mean no one would turn down a recent MVP, but they clearly need more help at point guard than center with Gobert and Wemby.
