struggled through this out of curiosity and yes it is bad. Maybe even worse, it's bad in a really boring way, just absolutely forgettable every second of the way

It's still so incredibly embarrassing for anyone putting their name on any of his projects. They're all the usual actors of course but still

  5. I've said it before - I feel dedicated to following his career as an impartial observer after how much time and literal work (I wrote my college thesis on his work) I put into his music. At this point, it's morbidly fascinating to see the path his career has taken. Incredibly depressing, but fascinating nonetheless. Honestly feels historic.

So yeah, I threw this on out of morbid curiosity just like his past three or so projects and honestly? I thought it was perfectly listenable and completely substance-less. Pleasant enough because of some of the beats/features and Ty's singing, but definitely forgettable, and I gotta wonder if him not saying anything controversial on the record for the first time in his...entire career? Has something to do with that, and the lack of attention it's getting. The hate he is getting is hilarious because 1. he deserves it and 2. this is infinitely more listenable than his past three-four projects, if only as actively inoffensive background noise.

I think this will be first album of his I won’t even listen to. Even the morbid curiosity is gone for me. All I know about him now is the videos that will show up on my reels of him walking around in a snowsuit and his wife in something sheer. By all means, they can do what they want, but the vibes are absolutely terrible.

I mentioned in the other thread, but fred again is on this album, who I think is new to working with him

  9. Denzel and Peggy still hyping them up too, unfortunately. That new Denzel album is so good too. It's a bummer.

It will make me really happy if he misses #1 for the first time in forever, but unfortunately it doesn’t look like there’s any competition this week.

I bet somewhere on someone’s hard drive there is “Charli week” “Kanye week” “Billie week” plays for whatever they are going to release to stay number one

  15. Tbf I don't think she has to work hard to block this from going number one lol. The only other time I've seen his fans react to something so negatively (including the Hitler arc) is Donda 2

Well, Taylor is blowing Kanye away this week. His 11 consecutive studio albums to debut at #1 streak has ended with a whimper.

    125,000 for Taylor at #1
68,000 for Kanye & Ty Dolla Sign at #2

For reasons that make little sense, Kids See Ghosts doesn't count towards ending the streak at 8 after debuting and peaking at #2 since I guess they had a group name even though it's clearly just Kanye West & Kid Cudi, and no different than these two or Jay-Z & Kanye, which have their own less promoted group names of ¥$ and The Throne.

Anyway, insert some sort of Karma joke here.

makes no sense, kanye and ty have a group name also, its the same thing as ksg or the throne

  18. I wonder if he even cares at this point/how Ty is feeling lol

Yeah I don't get it either. All his solo albums and collaborations other than Kids See Ghosts show up on his Billboard Bio/Chart History.

Ty is likely happy. It's his second highest charting album and he makes more money. God only knows what is going on inside Kanye's head as his fall from grace and cultural significance continues.

  21. I haven't followed Kanye in a while (couldn't even get through Donda) but did he ever do anything to apologize or make up for all of the awful shit he said and did around Nazis, slavery, Hitler, etc.? Or is that just accepted by his fans?

As far as I know, a lot of fans are in the camp of separating art from artist…which I just can’t do when it comes to him.

  23. He apologized for the slavery thing and I then I think he just issued that one apology in Hebrew on his Instagram before immediately saying more antiSemitic stuff, so long story short, no apologies of value and his diehard fans are absolutely trying to separate the art from the artist...

...which is impossible when all he raps about is himself being controversial lmao

yeah I would argue that a lot of his fans and artists that work with him frankly don’t give a shit. It has a big “yeah but it’s Kanye” type of feel to it, from both the artists who work with him or his diehard fans
