No surprise here, but Blink is headlining the first night of KROQs Almost Acoustic Christmas, along with Kings of Leon, Jimmy Eat World, AFI and M83. MUST GO TO THIS!

The second night is pretty good too - Green Day, Beck, Weezer, Andrew McMahon, Phantogram and Bastille. I cant stand Green Day but would love to see Beck, Weezer, Andrew and Phantogram on one bill.

 

Blink played some acoustic songs in the UK today, including "She's Out Of Her Mind." And Mark wore glasses. #rockshow

 

I'm pretty sick of the seemingly hundreds of live stream spam vids that pop up on Youtube lol

I hate those so much. There's no way to get around those, is there?

 

At the acoustic show today apparently Mark said the deluxe version isn't coming until next year.

Terrible.... unless they were planning on recording new songs to go along with some they already have recorded and some demos. Wishful thinking?

 

The album is not even a year old. Chill.

Anyways, we've been hearing around Christmas. Next year could be like just a week later haha.

 

I was thinking they'd probably do it to coincide with the overseas tour next summer and before they really take a break. But who knows. ~

 

They need to push sober as a single before they release anything else

 

BBC 1 announced Home as the next single.

 

There's been so many other good albums this year if those b-sides are pushed to next year I'm really fine. I used up all my impatience before July 1st lol.

 

Deluxe edition January 1 2017....that's technically not this year right?

Fuck yes, they announced a show in The Netherlands, my day/week/year has been made!! The last time they headlined here i was about ten, and my parents wouldn't let me go. What i don't get, is the army of tombots who commented on the announcement with 'no tom=no blink'. How can they not see that with Tom in the band, we wouldn't have gotten the new album (because aliens) and all we would've had by now were some vague mentions in interviews that the band would start recording sometime in the near future.

Don't get me wrong, i like Tom, i like he found his passion, but he was holding the band down, so to say 'no Tom=no blink' is to say 'no blink, period'

Mark enjoys the new Bon Iver record. Pretty cool seeing that!

I'm stoked for the b-sides, especially since I was a bit underwhelmed with California (a realization that hit me once the hype died down). They've mentioned songs that didn't make the record in various different random interviews and it seems like the truly experimental, risky ones were left off, including one that "is the closest to heavy metal" they've ever done. I can see them holding off until early next Summer to release it, to really market the tour.


Edit: From a Chron interview right before their x-games show back in June:

“There’s a lot of really, really good songs (that didn’t make it),” said drummer Travis Barker. “There’s a song ‘6-8’ that didn’t make the record that was really heavy, kind of different for the band. There’s so much material that didn’t make the album that will possibly be on an EP or next album.”

I believe Mark also referenced the song in another interview and said a song was near heavy metal.

 

Before the summer festival/tour makes sense for the deluxe. Really hope the heavy stuff makes it on there.

 

Oh man near heavy metal. Tom did guest vocals for the growls.

I have a feeling it'll just be some speed picked riffs and double bass. still awesome.

 

The lack of Tom's METAL AF low grunts and growls are the sole reason blink-182 is not blink-182 without Tom DeLonge.

 

Not directly blink related, but I guess John Feldmann is producing a few songs for the new 311 record at the moment. I love 311 actually probably more than blink if that's possible, and I would have been scared of him producing part of their album a year ago, but California has given me a lot of faith in him. Sounds like he's giving them the same "write me five songs in one day" treatment. haha.
