Also, I agree with the folks saying sour stuff sucks

Especially sour beer. Like, who thought that was a good idea?

nah sour beers are one of the best styles. You gotta try the right ones though. I've had plenty of bad ones but the good ones are gooooooood

I gotta admit I’ve had a lot of different beers but never a sour or at least explicitly so

I tend to only like IPAs these days, but I'm not a huge drinker anymore.

Used to be really into brown ales, pumpkin beers, and flavored beers like Sam Adams Summer or Seadog Blueberry or Sunfish

Im in the same boat in the sense I dont drink much at all these days either. My taste is always changing though. Right now, the last thing I want beer-wise is an IPA, but a kettle sour or pils would hit the spot. Guess some of it has to do with the time of year. I have a hard time enjoying super hoppy stuff when we're in this extreme heat.

If I could just forget it

I was lucky enough to live close to the Firestone Barrelworks brewery for a few years. Their sours are so damn good. I've never found anything that can really match them since leaving.

I have mixed feelings on stuff like this. I don't mind lactose in sours but much prefer the cleaner/filtered takes on the style with lower turbidity. Vanilla ones also tends to be super hit or miss for my taste. Some hyped breweries like Drekker just take it way too far into the deep end imo. Swear some of their beers are like 50% sugar and fruit puree.

My real problem is that beer just fucks with my stomach now lol. I feel like my stomach somehow carbonates it more so that I feel incredibly full after one beer and am just burping and feeling uncomfortable. Sucks bc I like the taste

@mattav152 oh hey I see you're from southern Maine. I'm in NH. Any thoughts on Stoneface if you've had it? I'm 10 mins from the brewery. I'm a big fan of their Full Clip personally

yeah some place definitely over do it and it’s like your not even drinking beer anymore but if you can find the right balance like this one I love it

Stoneface rules and I like a good sour beer as long as it’s not overpowering. Having a Stoneface blueberry Berliner Weisse tonight.

Small world haha my wife even works in Portsmouth so we spend a lot of time over there and in Kittery mostly for food since theres way more good stuff in the area compared to where we live (basically in Dover but just over the boarder).

I have never actually stepped foot inside the Stoneface brewery and I think about stopping every time I drive by it on 16. I've definitely had some of their more standard stuff like the IPA over the years and thought they were pretty solid from what I remember! I'll have to make a point to actually get over there. My go to in the area is Earth Eagle.

Earth Eagle is solid, used to go there a bunch when I worked in Portsmouth. I was always a fan of their gruits but they have some good mainstream styles as well. Can’t recommend Garrison City enough too, that was my spot when I lived in Dover.
