Wish they would work with their old producer Jim Wirt or someone like Neal Avron… I don’t think there would be one fan disappointed if they drop a rocking big guitars and piano forward track.

I’m curious if anyone in SoCo that wasn’t Andrew raised their hand and was like, “Hey, is anyone else NOT feeling this?” But I assume the paycheck is too good and that’s why they didn’t say anything and that’s why the product is what it is.

  14. I guess I’m the odd man out, but I really enjoyed it. Even more than the other new track. Good on them to create something positive that’s super catchy—hopefully they gain some new fans. I’m getting very Everything In Transit vibes. I think the video is fine (get that some of it is a bit over the top 60s flower power) but it’s great to see them all together again!

It seems like the issue that most people have is that the song doesn't "feel" Soco and that they would be more satisfied with a song that sounded soco even if it wasn;t their favorite track. If you listened to both of the new songs and no one specifically told you they were "Soco" songs you would assume they were just some Wilderness B-sides. I understand why they did them and I understand what most fans want, a song that has a soco vibe, piano, guitar, and clean vocals with no distortion effects. That all being said, when a band comes back after 20 years, I'm not expected to get new music I will love, I'm more into the tour and hearing my old favorites played live again.

I feel like the other members might be fine? When I saw them play recently they all just seemed super stoked to be playing together and were smiling wide, mouthing the words to the songs even if they didn't have a vocal, playing little pranks on each other, etc. I like Death Grip more but I like both. Andrew does give off hip youth pastor energy (I'm sorry if ur reading this Andrew) so I do feel like that... Vibe can come across. But it's nice music for a nice lil sunny summer day imo

Guess I’m way in the minority for both enjoying it, and looking forward to more. They sound like guys who haven’t played much together finding their groove again. I’m glad they’re not making fans wait for new music while they’re working to get it right.

Neither new song’s been perfect, but I think both show promise. And to be fair, I thought dude’s playing really did look happy.

I dislike it because it sounds bad. I don’t like the generic sounding lyrics either. I’ll echo what others are saying that these two tracks have a distinct feeling of In The Wilderness b sides because come on even unreleased tracks from SoCo were way better than this. Need I remind everyone of Watch The Sky? Play that song back to back with these and try not to tell me how jarring the difference is. My main beef is that they included the name Something Corporate on these two tracks that don’t even remotely sound like SoCo. I’d rather them have left SoCo be dead than bastardize it with these two tracks. Again, if these were ITW b sides they’d be fine as that, but still not my favorite. In The Wilderness hasn’t been my cup of tea since he started it. And it’s amazing if you go see him live as I did last year he mostly plays SoCo and JM songs and not a lot of ITW stuff. What does that say? But including SoCo in this just feels so wrong to me. It’s just my opinion, but I feel very strongly about it.
