Logitech's 'forever mouse' could mean peripherals go the way of coffee beans, TVs, and printer ink by pushing a subscription

Reading an article about companies trying to figure out how to "live service" peripherals makes me wanna go walk into the ocean and try to isekai myself.

 

Fuck that I swear I go through a mouse on a yearly basis. The scroll wheel always fails

 

Upstream podcast has a really good episode on this kind of thing - planned obsolescence, tiny proprietary parts inside of tech that makes it so you can’t replace it on your own, subscriptions for printer ink, etc. Pretty infuriating to consider that kind of future

 

One of the supervisors in the office is currently walking around telling everyone some fake story about Candace Owens taking over The View. She and two other people are EXTREMELY excited.
