I think he pretty much exposed why it bothered him--He knows he's a bastard and knows the nobles of KL know it as well. But they'll never challenge him because the Targ blood helped him tame and become a dragonrider. So he's still "special" and worthy of the claim. But if anyone can claim a dragon, suddenly the main argument he has for his claim that would counter his bastard status doesn't seem so..uh, strong.

Yeah he's wrong to look down on them, but also he could end up being killed or overthrown if someone on their side decided to question his legitimacy. Obviously everyone knows he is her son but I understand his point that one of their allies could choose to champion her son Aegon instead

Yeah maybe if you’re a green-lover who refuses to see that a blockade wouldn’t be necessary in the first place if they wouldn’t have challenged the rightful queen’s place

Someone get this traitor out of the thread!

Gonna need some dimensions and logistics of the dragon pit. Someone goes down there and calls your name at normal volume ONCE and Vermithor shows up in 10 seconds. I have coworkers that don’t show up as fast to their own Teams calls they schedule.

But like if Rhaenyra is queen that basically legitimizes him and gives him direct claim regardless of who had a dragon.
also like if they’re just in a mood why come at all.

Iirc, the targs and dragons are so deified and the belief in “noble blood” so strong that there was a belief that the Targ blood had to be as “pure” as possible and if they did marry outside of Valyrian blood it better be noble. Bastardy was seen as very unnoble and their blood as “tainted”, especially if they were lowborn bastards. Aka, Jace having a dragon meant surely the charges can’t be true.

My only issue with logistics was how quickly Jace got to the Wall and back to Dragonstone in the first(?) episode but idk dragon mph and don’t really care.

Vermithor dragon pit scene looked and felt like a video game (mean that as a good thing) and kinda surprised there have been no GoT games (or maybe there has been) other than what I assume are random phone games from the App Store.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I liked Jace up until this episode now he's definitely not beating the moody teen allegations

telltale did a great one…well, story wise, the game itself was glitchy from what I remember, which wasn’t totally strange for telltale games. It was supposed to get a Season 2 but then they shut down

I don’t know how close Driftmark is to Dragonstone but all season it seems like Rhaenys/Sea Snake step out of the room with the painted table they are already on the docks of Driftmark

they are super close tbf. Not sure this map is 100% accurate/canon, but it seems to be this way on most of the maps I’ve seen

I remember being deeply annoyed and disappointed by how GOT just completely gave up on being accurate with the time/distance thing in season 7. I think it was when Gendry(?) magically made it back to the wall, somehow got notice to Dany all the way in Dragonstone, and Dany making it all the way up past the wall in what was apparently a matter of hours

However the non-specific time jumps have always been such a core part of this show that I really don’t mind it at all. I’m glad they didn’t follow GRRM’s commitment to trying to be super accurate about it

Also found it interesting that none of the boats were stopped from leaving King’s Landing. Obviously doesn’t look great to kill/sink the boats but idk if Aemond really cares how he looks to the small folk.

Yeah I really don’t mind too much the random time jumps because it never really gives the impression that it’s all taking place in the same day or even week. With the major exception being the example you mentioned.

Luckily Varys is a merman so that explained him being able to get from Westeros and wasps with such ease
