I legit hated the 3rd but some others may have found something to enjoy in it. I think the consensus was pretty universal that 2 was a step down from the og

Nope! If i remember correctly, the main connective tissue in Origins was the first one

Just finished Horror in the High Desert 3 and damn that one rules too. Didn't expect them to stretch it out into a fourth movie, but I kind of love it. Being from the high desert, albeit a different part, a lot of the time we had nothing better to do than explore abandoned shit at night. The last 20 minutes of this really brought back some creepy memories. I hope more people give these a chance.

 

Finally saw Maxxxine and really liked it!

 

Where does one watch them?

 

Shudder and Tubi should have 1 & 2. 3 is VOD rn.

Yeah, Hell House 2 and 3 are stinkers. Origins is very good and you could likely go in without rewatching the original and still pick up on any connective tissue.

Horror in the High Desert 2: Minerva made my end of the year list last year, both movies are really great uses of the found footage mockumentary format. I'm stoked to watch the new one this week!

 

the scene with the zoom meeting in Origins goes insanely hard

Yeah, I really enjoyed Hell House LLC Origins.

 

I really don’t know if I’d enjoy those or not

I’ve only seen the first one and Origins. Liked Origins a lot more than the first

 

Regardless of the mixed feelings on here, this is pretty awesome to see.

tbh it's not my fav of the year, let alone the decade, but like, good for them. it's good to see horror doing well

 

I feel like the marketing could be something I randomly think of like 10 years from now (if we’re all even still here) and still say, “damn they cooked”. Then I’ll rewatch it for 3623th time. It was a fun time to be a horror fan.

 

Longlegs is cool with a flawed story in the end and the marketing was great. There have been far worse movies making more money and it’s good to see indie films do well. My gripe is with early reviewers, quit overdoing it please.

 

I will be at a concert Friday night, but it looks like it could be I Spit On Your Grave on Joe Bob?
