I am actually not sure it is, I have seen a few French people saying its depicting these Ancient Greek style parties called Bacchanalia, since the Olympics are ancient games and Greek. There are a few articles out there talking about how it it was a misunderstanding with the Last Supper.

Yeah this is unfortunately how I’ve finally realized my dad is a terminally online boomer. He posted a status on Facebook about some Christian song he had uploaded and was all upset because it had gotten removed because he was “manipulating” the algorithm or whatever for clicks and likes (?) or something (?) I don’t know, but anyway he eventually got around to blaming it on the satanic Olympic opening ceremony. All his friends in his comments were like “Amen, I’m so sorry this is happening to you” and like I’m not really sure what the “this” is that’s happening to my dad apparently, but yeah man that’s rough buddy.

Yep. I'm a traditionalist Catholic and my FIL who is a Colbert-loving retiree, quickly wanted my reaction to this. I just rolled my eyes, and said it's not something I or the wife are remotely interested in devoting brain power towards.

Reiterated my desire for Universal Healthcare though (which of course he's against, surprise).
