Got the live vinyl in way earlier than expected

 

(if there is a general Saosin thread, I'm sorry, I tried to find it)

but I ran across this today when I had a wild hair to play this song again - I've never seen this before in all my years on ultimate-guitar.com.

Wonder if they actually blocked it or if this was a label thing?

 

Seems like this happens with any album that Sheet Happens offers a tab book for. Saosin and Circa both work with them. Kinda lame. SAOSIN - Official Guitar Tabs, Vinyl & Merch

 

Blocked what? I'm looking at that Ultimate Guitar link on my phone and I'm not sure what I'm not supposed to be seeing.

Yeah at one point a few years back, they started blocking tabs (not just official ones) under a paywall. Found out the hard way when I couldn't even access some of those I made as a teen.

 

Its cause the Sheets Happens tab books exists.. Every time that company makes a tab book, if you try to look up the songs that got tabbed, they block it with copyright on UG. It's SH doing it. Look up Circa tabs from Juturna, OLG or Blue Sky Noise and youll see what I mean.

 

They haven't blocked any Wonder Years tabs that I've seen yet — maybe specifics of the deals with each publisher?

Yeah I've run into that same issue with Protest the Hero/Caligula's Horse, and they both have tab books on Sheet Happens. Sheet Happens is actually primarily run by the PTH guitar player I believe. On one hand it's annoying, but on the other hand they usually offer a fairly affordable ebook version, so I'm fine with them making a little extra money off that.

 

So... when are we gettin' them Self Titled vinyl's

 

If I were a gambling man I'd say September for the re-recording since the original album released in September. Original vinyl, if it still happens, not until after so Nov-Dec.

 

I don’t think the original is being re-pressed from what I’ve heard. That’s a big reason why they re-recorded it.

 

Yea, I don’t see why they would re-record if the original was available in the US. Maybe it will be like Four Year Strong where the original version will be available overseas?

Beau said the label wanted like 100k + a big cut of profits to license a pressing of the original, so there's no way that's happening unless the label presses it themselves.

 

Somehow smartpunk said they'll be able to press it. Maybe smartpunk will just press it overseas, but it was on their list of vinyls coming out in 2024.

 

SRC Vinyl pressed the S/T a few years back. I was lucky to get that copy.
