Right Kind of Dream is phenomenal. The whole thing is but that one and Jupiter's Faerie really stuck out

Album of the year so far and sits comfortably with his best records. “Jupiter’s Faerie” is truly special

Straight heat from Sturg. Guy can chameleon into so many musical angles. What an artist.

This was the only thing I wanted to listen to over the weekend. Another home run for Sturgill. Mint Tea is the one that's stuck in my head.

  12. Very excited to finally spin this today.

  13. "Right Kind of Dream" is wild. I also don't think I've ever heard him sing as smoothly as he does on "If the Sun Never Rises Again." Beautiful tune.

Still not sure that he'll ever top Sound & Fury for me, but this is nice.

Busy, busy weekend on my end, so I haven’t had much time with this or the new Donovan Woods yet. Excited to dive in more fully over the next few days.

This album is already taking my Jason Isbell spot this summer… throw it on no matter what when the weather is nice.

Fear of recency bias is the only thing keeping me from smashing the "This is his best album" button. For now I'll just say it's been so long since an album dropped and was literally the only thing I wanted to listen to for days.

The "there's no happy endings..." part into the final chorus of Jupiter's Faerie is some transcendent shit. That song, Right Kind of Dream, and One for the Road feel like classics.

Pretty interesting to see Metamodern only top one list, feel like that is usually pretty well regarded as his best everywhere outside this site. It’s easily my favorite of his.

Yeah I love Sturg, and I love this new album and the way he reinvents himself - but Metamodern is/was a masterpiece that really set the stage for who he is. Still reigns supreme for me. Even the last ranked album would still be an A-/B++ from me.

    Metamodern
    Sailors Guide
    Passion
    Sound and Fury
    High Mountain Top
Dood (still absolutely adore, Played Out, Jaunita and One In The Saddle all amazing)
