  3. Djed Spence with a goal and assist in today’s friendly. Makes me happy. I don’t think he’ll stick around but would be cool if he finally panned out.

  4. Didn’t watch the game but seeing the highlights and reading the recaps got me excited for the upcoming season. The young guys we’ve brought in seemed to do very well.

Archie Gray had to play CB because we didn’t have any available lol but he apparently still impressed quite a bit.

Lucas Bergvall had an assist and looked very in control whenever he had the ball.

Micky Moore scored a goal as well. I think he’s still only 16 years old. But it’s looking like he’s going to be apart of the first team this year. Ange loves him and he plays well every time he comes on.

It was obviously just a friendly but all good signs. It’s weird seeing Spurs with all these talented teenagers, the guys above as well as in the academy.

Just a couple years ago our academy looked pretty depressing. Now, we have 6-8 U21 academy players that are all carrying tremendous hype. It’ll be interesting to see how the club manages all of them with their loans and progression into the senior team. They won’t all make it, but even if just 2-3 do, that’s an impressive class of players.

I can’t help but think that super clubs making deals to sign children in 4 years time, when they hadn’t even made a senior appearance, is unhealthy for the game. Happens a lot with young South Americans too.

Should probably be some sort of global football law put in place against this.

Having children playing against men twice their age in professional games also feels slightly wrong

But then it’s also very funny when grown men try to shit talk a teenager and the teenager knocks them out of the tournament

I don’t know what you could do.

Obviously kids under 16 shouldn’t be playing senior football. And I don’t think anyone under 18 should be able to be signed by a club outside their own country, even on a future transfer arrangement. But that’s technically the case for some countries already and they get around it.

I can’t even begin to state how dramatically 200,000 a year, let alone a week, would change my life.

Not bad for a guy who made his name by winning the Swedish cup.

  15. @gonz (Alex) gg last night. I’m assuming Columbus fans are equally as frustrated as Charlotte fans after that one lol

we both had chances to take the lead and just couldn’t get it in.

haha i know. I try to find solace that they pay alot of tax on it, but it doesnt really dent the envy much.

  17. The Sun put out a rumor that Spurs are trying to sign McTonimay. The source is crap, but I kinda like it lol

It is wild. It's also shameful how the media report things with younger athletes. I googled the man city part and tons of articles with lines the likes of 'future man city star'... Leave that out and just let kids develop into whatever player they're going to be. Starting so young is such a career death sentence as a mediocre career will just be looked at as a 'failure' when you start with that much hype.

He's done the square root of nothing since leaving City's youth team. Fantastic player, though.
