I made my post too soon. I absolutely haaaaaaate the voice the narrator uses for Varys. Wtf is this lol. I don’t remember how much dialogue he has in the books but I hope it’s not a lot because this is terrible. Not terrible because it’s bad but terrible because it sounds gross as shit. Like someone who can’t swallow the saliva in their mouth, yuck.

 

What’s the significance of this? Seen it quoted a bunch but I didn’t think much of it when watching.

Been rewatching GoT. I’m so glad I don’t have to give a shit about White Walkers in HotD

They were one of the least interesting parts of GoT for me. Singularly motivated characters with no actual personalties, even the Night King. The idea of having to spend time in this show thinking about how they'll affect its plot seems boring.

i kinda wish they did more with the white walkers. or, at least, did what they did better. there were so many interesting tidbits about them but we never got enough actual lore or answers. it’s an unsatisfying amount of information for a thing that should have been cooler

 

yeah i think feeling that way about the WW after the original show concluded, given how they eventually handled their storyline, is valid, but during the show they were, imo, one of the more fascinating subplots and involved in some of the more interesting show moments.

 

the part where they finally showed the Night King turn that little baby into a walker was utterly mind blowing the first time I saw it

 

yeah especially with the land of always winter insight, hardhome fucking ruled, and I loved the tease of the children of the forest turning the first man. all of that shit was so cool and just shrug emoji'd by the end of the show.

 

So just turned it on mid-episode on HBO and the scene on is Hugh and his wife arguing, and she mentions going to her brothers in Tumbleton. No way that’s a coincidence, feels like it would definitely come into play as to why he makes the switch
