I’m also alone in someone else’s house. It’s basically a set up for a horror movie. Maybe The Strangers will show up. but not the ones from chapter 1

 

Been waiting for this one for awhile.

 

I imagine Oz Perkins can do just about anything he wants now. wonder if he’ll stick with horror in the long run. kinda wonder the same about Eggers too

Honestly got to the marital rape scene and couldn't get past it knowing who made it. I know it's a big blind spot to have I. horror but I also feel like I know enough about it and have seen enough informed by it that I'm just fine without it.

I'm not hardline about a lot of stuff, but that one and the Jeepers Creepers franchise are just two I can't look past.

Man, rewatch, The Wolf of Snow Hollow is so fun. I love Jim Cummings.

 

There’s a bad thunderstorm going on now. I’m definitely going to be murdered in this house tonight.

 

I wonder if the larger number of trailers--and the larger turnout than I'm used to for this time of day--is due to it being Tuesday today. Almost 7 when I got out the concession line is packed.

Anyway, yeah, Longlegs is good. Not the scariest--or even tne wildest--horror film of the year so far, but thoroughly unsettling, and definitely Blackcoat's Daughter plus Silence of the Lambs vibes, which was exactly what I was expecting/hoping for. Perfectly paced slow burn, beautifully shot. I think if you go in with the right expectations removed from the hype you'll have a good time
