Every time I see it, I’m still just wondering why James McAvoy is so jacked in it.

 

The Uncle Joey "CUT! IT! OUT!" gesture gets me every time

 

Speak No Evil trailer has become my new Argylle trailer.

 

Speak No Evil was such a fucked up movie. Not in a fun way. I’ll be surprised if the remake takes it as far.

 

One of the most upsetting movies I've ever seen, and I have no desire at all to see the remake.

I’ve seen Salo and Martyrs. I don’t need to watch that or A Serbian Film

 

I just remembered that me and my one friend groaned when the release date came on screen because we both happened to have forgotten when it came out.

I’ve actually never seen the original, but the two friends I usually go with have seen it. So I decided I’m going to experience the remake first and see how I feel about it on its own and then they’ll have the opposite experience.

 

Is it bad/terrible or is it in such bad taste that 2024 audiences wouldn't have it?

Speak No Evil is definitely bleak but nowhere near as bad as these imo

From everything I've read, it's actually very, very good, just also very niche, which seems odd considering horror is having such a moment right now

 

I hope y’all don’t think I’m a trash goblin for saying this, but I love the original Speak No Evil and I’m excited for the remake. Though I also assume not much will really be added to it.

 

The original is quite good, but that new trailer gives away almost everything.

 

It was a well done movie but the ending just fucked my whole day up when I watched it lol

Mayhaps not near as bad as those two, but it kinda reminds me of Megan is Missing as far as how potentially upsetting it can be. I'm a horror fan but these are the types of movies I'd like to avoid. I'm glad I read the synopsis for Speak No Evil before going to see it, even if the remake changes things I don't think I'd have a good time

 

Excited for Longlegs tonight! Everyone I know has hated it so I’m keeping my expectations in check.

Watched Loop Track tonight. I enjoyed it. Started Nightwatch, but too tired to finish tonight.

 

I have a confession for the thread. I have been house/cat sitting for my friends since Saturday afternoon. I will be here until Wednesday afternoon. And I’ve been too chickenshit to watch a horror movie.

In my defense, I have also been pretty high pretty much the entire time. But still, I feel like I have once again brought shame to the ancestors.
