Also would mean two more major battles, though I suppose with the Fishfeed, you could just show the events preceding it and then imply the battle without actually showing it. But also that would require them introducing some pretty important characters that they haven’t introduced yet! I guess that could be how they introduce us to them (vague but still naming events to come even if I’m not saying what happens in them so read at own risk)

Did anyone catch the little hint of Shireen’s score in the beginning of the episode with Corlys? Though it also sounds similar to the score that played during Laena’s funeral so coulda been that

I actually really enjoyed this episode, my housemates are rewatching GoT between episodes/getting me to watch it too and it's really driving home the reasons I enjoy HoTD so much more. there's just so much stuff constantly happening in Thrones, we're constantly jumping around between 6 different plots every episode and compressing so much information into every one. it's so rare in that show to ever get a quiet moment to just sit with the characters and that's one of the reasons (along with the OTT shock value stuff) that I find myself not feeling as much when they die

shoutout to the showrunners of this for just letting the episodes breathe a bit and making us feel the weight on all the characters. the opening scene this week with Corlys or the one with the camera just staying locked on Alicent while she was freaking out were fantastic pieces of acting and directing, didn't need any dialogue to hit hard as hell

 

What is the importance of the gray haired dude with the sick daughter. Am I supposed to know his deal yet?

book spoiler/question if they’re going to do the sowing in one episode, it seems odd at this point that hugh would mount vermithor? i wonder if they shift this. it seems to set up Ulf with his convo during the pub scene but have they mentioned anything yet about hugh’s valyrian blood?

 

it also just seems weird at this point given the establishment of his feelings towards aegon that he would both join rhaenyra at this point and then go back to aegon. just seems weird with how they’re handling that character so far

 

after watching what appeared to be his daughter dying in his arms I can see the switch to team black but it will be interesting to see how he switches back

it just seems odd after saying that the dragons are just meat to continue the path the book lays out for him

 

Hopefully we see Silver try to mount Cannibal and get his shit clapped and we see Jace just say “next”

 

right now they’re just using him to show what’s going on with the smallfolk in the city but otherwise no you shouldn’t know anything else about him yet

 

yeah with him trying to get out of the city this episode, they’re setting up the switch to black…really gonna be interesting to see what precipitates the switch to green. Maybe watching Rhaenyra rule in KL makes him realize all the nobles suck or something.

Also yeah I don’t get how they’re gonna get him and Ulf there for the sowing now, unless they’re just gonna skip over him actually escaping KL and were just showing us his intent to do so this episode

 

i get them yada yada-ing that part, there’s just no motivation for him being like i guess i should ride a dragon now

 

I wonder if when he gets over to Dragonstone if Rhaenyra or Jace will inquire about his hair color or something. But yeah personality wise he doesn’t seem like he’s that guy. Buuuut maybe if his daughter ends up dying, he gets angry/pissed/holds a grudge against Aegon and wants revenge
