Blue Skies album is out there....I've only heard the first two tracks but they are incredible

Through most of my first listen and it sounds like an expansion on the sound he explored on Sailor's Guide. Scooter Blues and Jupiter's Faerie are my favorites so far.

    Man this is hitting.

Definitely closest to Sailor's Guide but feels bigger/maybe more accessible. Scooter Blues is so fun and catchy and Jupiter's Faerie might be one of his most beautiful songs ever.

Extremely Sturgill move to release an album this good under a fake pirate name with no single or promo lol.

One for the Road is immediately one of my favorite Sturgill songs

Incredible album, maybe one of his best. No misses and there are a few songs here (definitely Jupiter's Faerie and One for the Road) that strike me as all time Sturgill songs.

Love the Al Green/Bill Withers type zone he’s working with on track 2

Damn this is incredible. It’s like metamodern with more soul. His voice is so damn smooooooth on here.

If the Sun Never Rises Again is his best John Mayer impression

We reach for the longest shadow

Man… as someone who absolutely loved Sailor’s Guide, I’ve waited so long for another project like that from him.

I definitely hear some Continuum on this album.

  15. Pretty solid Gilmour impression on the back half of the last song too, with a little Knopfler flourish in there also. Not sure how sold I am on the songs on this yet (one listen lol who knows) but it sounds incredible and I like his lead guitar a ton

BNM with an 8.4 on P4K!

I listened while driving to the airport this morning, as someone who's favourite is by far and away Sailor's, this is a lovely reunion with that sound for me.

Definitely love that he brought along some of the bluegrass vibes though, I don't know if it's Sierra Hull again or not but lovely mandolin throughout.
