Just got a lovely email from Ticketmaster about a data breach

 

why? It’s a good thing to care deeply about something and want to thoroughly explain your thoughts/ideas/opinions. Even if I disagree with a lot of what you wrote, I still enjoy getting the viewpoint and thinking about things in different ways. I appreciate your longer posts!

 

I’m saying it makes some people’s lives better, and the better it’s doing sometimes the more people it’s helping, and it’s up to politicians and electeds to propose policy to help out the folks it isn’t helping

I agree, i just feel like some of us in this thread (myself very much included) are saying the same thing and the line between constructive back-and-forth and spinning wheels feels blurred sometimes, for my part at least.

I do appreciate the time you put into your posts on here even when i vehemently disagree with you on things.

 

I get that, I just didn’t want you to be sincere about the “uncool” thing haha. Reminds of that whole “it’s not cool to care” vibe that we’ve been fighting since South Park and no one should feel uncool for being passionate about making the world better!

Yeah I doubt we’ll get anyone to change their minds on that specific topic, but it’s still good to read about IMO. Our differences are too much about working within the system vs. destroying the system all together (oversimplification but you get what I mean) to fully convince someone to change, but that’s okay. I get just as frustrated as you do trying to ‘convince’ you and others how important participation in electoral politics is lol, but it is what it is. I always enjoy reading what folks have to say and what their reasons are for it* because at the very least it gets me wondering what can be done to change it/what would have to happen to change it/etc. Seems hopeless a lot of times just like I’m sure I seem hopeless to you lol, but IMO no one should ever completely lose hope trying to convince people of ways to improve shit. At the very least, maybe a lurker reading learns something new or gets interested in the ideas behind something or etc.

*this is mostly not true for conservatives because either their beliefs are vile or they just aren’t anywhere close to the same goals I have. At least with super far left wingers we generally have similar ideas on what people deserve re: food, shelter, care, etc, even if we have small or wildly different views of trying to accomplish that.

 

Gotta love when a new round of dismal internal polling gets released.
