But yeah you won’t get Blackfyre stuff yet, I’d pick up Knight of the Seven Kingdoms next to get some Blackfyre lore and action

The Maegor portion of F&B was pretty cool too . That also could easily be it's own show.

How much is that book set up as a compilation of short stories or a constant narrative history where everything is intertwined. I"d love to read it if it's somewhat isolated story after story, but if it's that narrative I don't think I could keep up with all of the characters and names as a reader and I'll just stick to the show where it's whittled down a bit.

I def wouldn’t call it a compilation of short stories. Mroe narrative for sure, but because GRRM writes it in the voice of a Maester, it does a decent job of repeating names/relations/titles over and over again since it’s supposed to be a “scholarly” writing I suppose haha. Like I just grabbed the book to find an example and one of the chapters/sections starts off talking about Alysssa, Alysanne, and Rhaena Targaryen, and even though the preceding sections had plenty to say about those 3 characters for different reasons, it still spends an entire paragraph reminding us who they are all/who they were married to/who their parents were (Alyssa was Queen married to Aegon the Conquerer’s heir Aenys, Rhaena was her and Aenys oldest daughter and married to their oldest son Aegon the Uncrowned , and Alysanne was Alyssa’s 4th born daughter and future queen). Just seeing those names and descriptions right here is going to leave you confused, but the book does a pretty good job circling back and reminding you who people are over and over again. Especially as it moves from section to section.

Should go in thr GOT thread but don’t wanna keep bumping that one for the same meme format. Some of these are so good though lol. First time GOT discourse/memes has been in the mainstream since it aired I think

It is interesting how much weird shit goes on in the Riverlands. Considering it’s seen so much war and death over the history of the country, it makes sense. Like a giant, centuries long Gettysburg battlefield

i kinda want to see a show set prior to the conquest, maybe ending with it, more than i want to see the conquest itself

they’d never do it but if they had the guts they’d make a show about the conquerer but spend the first season or two showing us Westeros before he came while also showing us what he was doing/planning/plotting/etc

Someone mentioned it but yeah Maester O and Larys definitely understood what Aemond was saying to Aegon at the council

i think the maester does but i don't think larys knew exactly what he was saying. i think it's just clear to anyone sitting there one was speaking fluently and one was stumbling through it.

I’ve seen miserable nerds up in arms about this since last season but it’s really ramped up this year, and somehow none of them seem to catch on to the fact that 1. literally none of the “prophecies” in the show came true completely, and 2. The whole iron throne part seems to be a Targ interpretation of the dream! It doesn’t say anything about controlling the iron throne! Just that the prince that was promised would come from their bloodline. Dany and Jon organized and led the resistance to the white walkers. Someone else got the fatal blow in on the head guy oh no, prophecy means nothing now!
