AC was broken in the studio today

engineer got frustrated with it early and stopped us in the middle of fixing the bass for the last song, ugh lol. We did guitar and drums first and only got about halfway through bass. Totally killed my OCD. I had asked him for 20-30 extra minutes but the heat made him be like “nah we’ll start early next time”

came home and took the most glorious nap but I just woke up still feeling salty we didn’t get to a real stopping point lol. I GET IT but it GRINDS MY GEARS and I feel like I’m short circuiting knowing he cut me a track where half the bass is wrong & that’s gonna throw me off when I am listening to the finished tweaks of guitar and drums

atleast I wish we could’ve figured out what take was best overall and put it on that track! The bass take on there has so many mistakes in the second half of the song lol.

I've been bad at keeping up on this thread in the offseason, but I need to chime in to say that the Hudson Valley>NYC and that the Woodstock Ruston Kelly shows have been so sick.

 

Why are we comparing the Hudson valley to NYC tho lol

I get comparing Hudson valley to Long Island but compare cities to cities. Of course if you prefer living out in some countryside / outer suburbs / “in between” small-cities or large-towns you’re not gonna like NYC as much lol

 

I think I’d prefer Hudson Valley to Long Island by a mile. Montauk seems cool but it’s also so far away from everything

The people, architecture, infrastructure/development, nature/parks, culture, public transit, traffic, cost to value ratio, etc etc are all way worse in Virginia than Maryland

even if you live in the few nice little pockets of NorVA that has beautiful neighborhoods, you’re still surrounded by:
-easily a top 10 worst traffic area in the whole country
-practically nothing walkable on foot unless you live in stupid expensive Alexandria
-extremely soulless looking buildings and hellhole shopping centers like Tysons Corner
-1000 sq ft bungalows that cost $800k and normal sized family homes that cost $1.7 million
-ex government / ex military square heads who will never learn new information or question their dogmatic values, and corporate simps whose whole life is about bureacracy and money at the expense of ethics and culture (for example, could you imagine talking to somebody who works for Raytheon and sells weapons to the government? I just dislike your entire existence at that point). Even the liberals there are the type who think you can’t raise the minimum wage and that proxy wars in the Middle East are a necessary evil
-did I mention the traffic?

the one thing about NorVA that’s actually good to me is the international food, DC’s ethnic food scene definitely extends into NorVA, lot of good places down there. But even just being down there makes me depressed about society. You gotta get me all the way down to Fredericksburg or all the way west to Warrenton before you get to the parts of Virginia I actually like.
