  1. it doesn't really capture the same energy of like... James Brown's Live at the Apollo does, no. haha

I’m curious whether they actually played for an hour almost non-stop or if this was pieced together more tightly in post.

Looks like they cut all the slower and acoustic tracks. I think that may have been a good call because this feels pretty breezy/rocking from beginning to end.

makes sense for something with a wider release, pretty common. Would be cool to do a deluxe version with the rest of the tracks for the hardcore fans

Looks like Stephen did an interview with Rick Beato. Could be good. Could be zany. Time will tell.

Just saw a Insta clip of that. I will never not get a kick out of how happy social managers/editors are to put hard edits in between every 4th word Stephen says. There was another social clip somewhere here where they shamelessly edited the hell out of him to try and make him make sense and seem focused.

    Things have changed.

Got around to listening to the live album and ... boy it's terrible from top to bottom. The mixing, the performances. How did they green light that?

Really? Maybe my expectation is off. I have like 20 R.E.M. vinyl bootlegs with sound board recordings from the 80s and 90s that sound way worse and I still enjoy them a ton. I also love listening to the National RSD live tapes that were soundboard recordings and the Dr. Dog live tape box set that are definitely rough but enjoyable to listen to as documents of those live shows.

Geez, seriously, is this what they sound like live in 2024 ? Awful

  11. I watched their Red Rocks performance lastnight, and it was fun! I think having the visual makes the concert more forgiving than being audio only.

I saw them last week and they were much better. This Red Rocks show is just particularly poor.

Got it, but also begs the question as to why they released this one

The Red Rocksness of it all, I guess.

  15. The film kinda touches on that. Stephen says they’re crazy for filming the start of the tour rather than the middle when a band is typically at their best. And during soundcheck for the show, Stephen got a really bad migraine and forgot words to songs and was puking, AND lost his voice. So being sick that day definitely didn’t help.

And their light person quit the day of the show, which was just interesting. Ha

I still want to hear the scrapped double live album from 2008/09.

This was great. I really didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Loved the Eric Valentine talk and the larger discussions about life.

@razorburn Could you please reupload those unreleased songs you posted on Page 50? Zippyshare's no longer up and can't find a decent link to those songs. Thanks :)

As someone who has seen Third Eye Blind more times than I remember in the last 10 years, I do not recall them ever sounding as bad as they do on that Red Rocks album.

you aren't wrong. They sounded amazing a few weeks ago and pretty much every other time ive seen them. Something must have been way off that night and i don't really know why they bothered releasing that.

Seeing these dudes tomorrow night with a group of friends. I probably wouldn't have made the trek, but stoked to see Yellowcard live for the first time.

Damn, I’ve seen TEB like 6 times and last night was their best performance by far. The setlist rocked and I loved the nuances and change ups and covers. It kept the crowd attention and rocked the whole way through.
