The funny part is it’s actually so simple. All they do is send the sound through a cutting needle that is placed into soft, easily moldable vinyl. Vibrations travel best, with the least interference, through solids (as opposed to through air) so the EXACT sound wave is literally cut into the record by the specific way the needle vibrates. When another needle is placed in it after it hardens, that needle vibrates the exact same way in the grooves and sends the same sound through more solids until it becomes an electrical signal through your speaker.

To me the physics of sound easily explains that. What the fuck kind of sorcery is a CD? You’re telling me a laser scans a flat metal surface with a uniform color and no grooves, and READS DATA from it? That makes no sense lmao

Folks when I say I know people from Jax making a living off playing music: “psh yeah right”

my friend Joel who was in 2 or 3 bands I played with regularly at the time: literally drumming for Tallah at two of the biggest music festivals in Northern Europe (Fajtfest, a huge hardcore / metal fest in Czech Republic… and Roskilde Fest in Denmark, which is like the Nordic / Northern Europe version of Glastonbury)

 

Best part is he’s not even my type, drummer wise lol. He is RIDICULOUSLY technical and clean about it , dude posts videos of every big show and I’m always very very impressed, but he plays at one volume. Fortissimo, super slam the drums ultra loud.

He has asked to tour with Terrain before and I thought about it but he’s much better suited to hardcore and metal and can clearly get in with WAYYYY bigger bands than us that can pay him more anyway lol
