I have a new gym motivation where I'll only watch Shudder at the gym on whatever cardio machine I'm doing. If my workout ends and there's more left of the movie I can't finish it until I go back to the gym or I keep on going on my cardio. I don't love cardio so I need all the motivation I can get. Can also be a gamble depending on how inappropriate the movie gets and then I'm self conscious that ppl can see what I'm watching and are like ???

Thought MaXXXine was great. I can see it being people’s least favorite in the trilogy though. Goth rules the screen, man

Backed. I said it in the movie thread but it oozes De Palma

Not sure where I'd put MaXXXine.

I was mixed on X the first time. I plan on rewatching it in the next week. I thought Pearl was pretty great and I have mixed to good feelings on Maxxxine. I wish it leaned harder into the slasher genre but I dug the atmosphere and performances.

Also I wrapped up a rewatch of Alien Resurrection and am excited to actually do both AVP’s for the first time ever before getting back to Prometheus and Covenant

Fun tip: if you turn your TV off and stare at the black screen for 1 hour and 42 mimutes, you’ll have the same exact experience as watching AVP: Requiem

Hahaha I’m expecting that based on what I’ve seen and heard! The first one is worthwhile though yeah?

Oh yeah, at least for the spectacle of it I’d say.

But yeah Requiem was one of the most insane movie watching experiences I’ve ever had because you just can’t see a goddamn thing the whole time. It’s been awhile so maybe I’m exaggerating it too. lol

  18. I just watched Aliens. If I’m honest I think Alien slightly tops it? Except the last 20 minutes of Aliens is fucking LIT. I don’t think I’ve seen this since I was a kid and even that was probably edited for cable. When Sigourney straps in to that metal machine to fight the alien, I was hollering. Also Bill Paxton rules.

I slightly prefer Alien but both are pretty much perfect in different respects

I think both are basically perfect movies and they’re different enough, so I’d have to cheat and just call it even.

  21. Honestly would be surprised if I liked it less than X, which is cool and fun but kind of loses my tonally. Maxxxine seems very up my alley

First one is VERY fun and worthwhile, even for a PG-13 film.

You're not exaggerating at all lol one of the darkest films (visually) I've ever seen, it's borderline unwatchable (and also just a shockingly bad movie)

    This is The Way

  22. Rewatching Halloween 5 and...I may have been wrong about it. At least some of it. The circus music that plays when the cops show up is unforgivable, but the scene where Michael pretends to be Tina's boyfriend (also named Michael) and where's the old man mask she gave him while driving her around like a psycho is genuinely one of the creepiest moments in the franchise.

I feel like I’m one of the few that likes X the most, haha. They are all fucking great and Goth’s performance in Pearl is the strongest but she’s such a bad ass in MaXXXine

AVP was wild and everything I think I could’ve wanted from this sort of crossover. This cannot be canonical at all to the Alien universe though? Definitely was more of a Predator movie overall. I love the consistent reinforcement that the Predators maintain so much nobility in their way of life.

Just watched the first Predator last night. Already saw Prey and will skip every sequel.
