  1. Archie deal done on the same day that Bergvall officially becomes a Spur. I think we have two real talents coming in with those two. Just have to remember they’re both only 18 and to be patient haha

Tbf footballers only have one career and clearly learn early on to separate their fandom and their job.

Look at how many Spurs players in recent years are Arsenal fans, for example. It just doesn’t matter to them because it’s different to being a fan.

If Gordon thought it was his chance to move back home and further his career, it makes sense.

Oh, I absolutely understand all of this and I was being slightly tongue-in-cheek when calling him a rat. These young athletes when exposed to so much luxury/wealth early on in their lives tend to run with the luxuries over any principles they may or may not have.

Tell that to Archie Gray lol. United talked to him last year but he wouldn’t join because his whole family and him are Leeds through and through lol.

but yeah that’s a very very rare occurrence, most don’t give a shit about their boyhood clubs and rightly so. Career over childhood fandom.

  6. I’m surprised Leeds entertained offers for Gray. I know they needed to sell some players but they could’ve raised the money while keeping their prized youngster. And 2-3 years from now Gray could be worth double what they received today.

Classic Levy taking advantage of a clubs plight.

Currently, @Swoos is leading the Draw. However, the games are a little wonky as the Copa finishes group stage and the Euros finish the R16 (which the Copa doesn't have), so I'll share an official leaderboard come next Monday when both tourneys are through their quarterfinals with the semis starting Tuesday.

No one is entirely eliminated yet, but that will change if Portugal (@bigmike) and/or Panama (@Serenity Now) fail to advance today.

I will do my best to update the spreadsheet as the games happen, but starting tomorrow, I'm on vacation from noon to Sunday, so not promising anything until next Monday, haha.

He supposedly has a release clause in the event Leeds weren’t promoted

  10. A big part of this transfer is that he could potentially fill two needs. Add depth at DM and RB. I think this detail may allow us to spend more in another area, like a deal for Eze.

    DM/RB: Gray
    Versatile attacker: Eze
    ST or Wide Attacker: ?
    LCB or LB: ?

This would be an ideal window. And like I said before, it feels realistic now that Gray is over the line. I think he’s good enough to be Porro’s backup and he can rotate into the midfield as needed. Previously, we’d probably have to buy two different players to fill those spots.

Chelsea signed the best #9 out of La Masia this morning. Probably pretty indicative of the summer Barca are about to have.

I found Gordon’s appearance on Neville’s podcast really interesting. Never heard Gordon speak before (or listened to Neville’s pod before) but he’s very well spoken and extremely ambitious, but not in a way that comes off as unbecoming or arrogant. Boyhood red and childhood hero was, unsurprisingly, Gerrard

There’s plenty of good reasons for why Liverpool don’t need to focus on attack first and foremost this summer. Need CB depth and future planning w/r/t Virgil. Do we improve at DM and are there any really available? And some would say it’s more imperative to have a plan for Salah’s eventual departure (whenever it happens) rather than a LW, plus we don’t know if Salah will return to form after his first big muscle injury of his time with Liverpool.

But I’m not a big Luis Diaz believer. I’d love for PSG or Barca (Diaz’s dad is seemingly always talking about how he wants his son to move to Spain) to come in for Diaz so a move at LW makes more sense. And if that were to happen, I’d be all over Gordon. Love the profile, the work rate, the mindset
