I saw Green Day last saturday in Madrid, they put on an amazing show. I had never seen them before. The new songs sound amazing live, and, even though I would have preferred a different setlist, hearing Dookie and American Idiot on full was an incredible experience.

PS: No King for a Day and not to much EEEEOOOOs, maybe because it was a festival.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

So rumor is Mike might be getting a signature bass from Epiphone? Here’s a few pics from their Euro tour at the moment. He’s been playing a bass that looks like a G3 in a silverburst finish with an Epiphone head and what looks like a small signature on it as well.

If this is true, then color me excited! I’d love it if they released an affordable version of the G3

Prob my biggest gripe about recent Green Day is that they don't let Dirnt really stand out. If you go back and listen to Dookie and Insomniac, in particular, he really shines and kind of gives them such a distinct sound. I dunno, I just don't hear those fun little bass licks anymore.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

they've been more prevalent since the trilogy but they get buried under the guitar/drums/vocals half the time

Yeah, he is all over Saviors. One of the best parts about the record imo.

Probably the reason Saviors is the most Green Day "sounding" record in probably 10-15 years, now I think about it.

I've noticed BJA has dialed it down starting with Hella Mega in 2021 and then when I saw them in January. Probably due to trying to get through 2 albums + other songs in one set.

Best news I've heard in awhile!

  14. I saw them at WWWY last year and he did the “ayyyyoo!” stuff almost every single song it felt like. If that was dialed back, then holy shit. Hahaha. Drove me crazy. Just play the song.

I love this song but have always thought that the bass sounds like a carbon copy of Are You Gonna Be My Girl by Jet, which in turn sounds like Lust for Life by Iggy Pop

Saw them last night in Manchester and they were fantastic.

Aside from Dookie and American Idiot, they also played American Dream, Dilemma, Bobby Sox, Look Ma, One Eyed Bastard, Minority, Brain Stew, Know Your Enemy and Good Riddance.

Saw them in the UK this week for the first time in 19 years. It was absolutely tremendous. A brilliant performance.

Dookie is one of my all time favourite albums and while I'm more likely to listen to anything from that until Warning, American Idiot really is amazing live. The crowd were literally singing every word, every musical flourish, every adlib on the album. And even with 30,000 people, the involvement of the crowd members on stage for Know Your Enemy and in our case, on guitar for Dilemma really did create a great sense of connection. A 2 and a half hour performance with minimal drag and so much energy.

Hearing Brain Stew live is still such a treat.

In terms if stadium gigs, I'd say I enjoyed that more than the Bruce Springsteen show I saw last year. Just brilliant and hopefully won't wait 19 years for the next one.

I know a few people that went to the Wembley Stadium show last night and they all said Green Day put on an amazing show but the surprising thing is that they all said was despite their set being almost 2hrs 30mins.. it absolutely flew by and felt like they were onstage for like 45 mins!!

MAN I hope they don't have to make cuts for the American leg, the setlist now is basically flawless (besides KYE)

I'm the first show next month so I'll be the first to find out

Really annoying they’re wasting a precious spot of non dookie and American idiot songs on that boring ass one. There’s like 100 other Green Day songs I’d rather hear
